Do you think it will be a relief pitcher?
Could be but I think it will be maybe for multiple players. Maybe a starter and reliever.

Don’t know why but I’m thinking something like Stroman and Alzolay

You must have changed your mind about them being interested in Alzolay.

Did I ever mention them not being interested in him? If I did mention him by name then yeah I have. He’s better than anyone we’ve got not named Anderson, Burke, Smith or Chapman

When I brought up the possibility of the Rangers trading for Stroman before, I mentioned that they had a couple of interesting relievers as well, Alzolay and Leiter. You commented that you didn't think they would be interested in them.

Alzolay has really good numbers this year. His walks are really low.

He pitches more than an inning at times.

Leiter looked better before a couple of recent rough outings.

And we wouldn’t be done in my book with just that trade. I still think we could be talking to Washington about Kyle Finnegan and Pittsburgh about David Bednar

From FSS:

Bonzagni transferred into Southern Illinois and impressed scouts with his ability to pound the strike zone, as well as increased arm speed. Bonzagni worked up to 97 this season with a solid two-seam fastball, working under barrels and inducing ground balls all year. He lives 93-95 and mostly pitches to contact, though Bonzagni found more success on the Cape this past summer with Falmouth punching tickets at a rate never seen in his collegiate career. It's a three-pitch mix featuring a slider that flashes above average, as well as a heavy-pronation changeup with diving action away from lefty bats. Bonzagni has a longer arm action and there is relief risk here if his command doesn't slightly improve at the next level, but he's a good lottery ticket with budding stuff and could go as early as the second half of day two.

From FSS:

Maxton is the brother of Mason Martin, a 2017 draft pick by the Pirates who's shown prodigious power at the minor league level. Maxton may have just as much juice as his brother and is a better athlete and a tick better runner to boot. Definitely some swing-and-miss concerns, but he's performed at the high school level and has scouts intrigued. Martin is an Oregon commit.

The 11th and 12th round picks sound like they have some promise.

William Privette 13th round pick
During the 2022 season, Privette:

• Struck out 80 batters and surrendered only 15 walks in 59 innings.

• Established a program and CAA single-season record in earned-run average (0.91).

• Led the nation in ERA (0.91), hits allowed per nine innings (4.70) and walks/hits per inning pitched (WHIP) at 0.78.

From FSS:

Privette is a relief-only analytic darling with a super-unique fastball that really carries through the zone like very few fastballs can. He'll sit in the upper-80s, grabbing a few readings that start with a 9, but the hop through the zone allows the pitch to play up a bit. Privette has a slingshot, over-head delivery that hides the ball well. He does offer a loopy, low-70s curveball that he can get ahead of hitters with, but it lacks the bite or velocity to put hitters away with consistency. For now, he's mostly a one-pitch guy, but the unique traits on his fastball and the projection on his body could see his name called toward the end of day to as a money-mover.

It is a really bad idea to have the draft during the ASG break. Today's draft session is completely lost in the coverage of the ASG happenings.

the people who are still paying attention to the draft at this point (the later rounds) would still be doing so regardless of when it's happening. it doesn't appear to have hampered your interest, and I'm sure it hasn't hampered anyone else's.
