Like I said they would not let me on for awhile and when they did I had to create new login. Then I was helped recovering my original login. Now it keeps swinging back and forth between the 2

Tiger, a Kansas commit, has had a rollercoaster spring in terms of publicity and performance. Reports have suggested the fastball has flirted with triple digits, though in games he's been mostly 90-94, touching 96 and 97 on occassion. Tiger has a strong operation and a loose, easy arm action. He really rips a fastball inducing high-spin on the pitch. There's solid carry and bore through the zone, but with a little tinkering that spin efficiency could take off and the fastball suddenly projects plus. He throws a hard mid-80s slider with short, downer tilt. There's starter upside here and relief stuff if used in shorter stints. Tiger is on the older side for a JUCO arm, already 22, but the stuff is so loud he's a good bet to get selected in July's draft.

Round 8

Julian Brock, Catcher

Scouting grades: Hit: 45 | Power: 50 | Run: 40 | Arm: 55 | Field: 50 | Overall: 45

Paul Bako and Jonathan Lucroy had long big league careers as catchers after going in the top five rounds out of Louisiana-Lafayette, and Brock could do the same. He made just 14 starts and only four behind the plate in his first two years of college before earning all-Sun Belt Conference honors in 2022. He has improved as a fourth-year junior, showing more power and patience at the plate.

Brock's strength-based right-handed swing can get long at times but produces plus raw power. He's been much more selective this spring, controlling the strike zone and waiting for pitches he can drive in the air to his pull side. He handles quality velocity well and makes consistent hard contact.

A good athlete for a 6-foot-3, 220-pounder and for a catcher, Brock has below-average speed on the bases and moves well behind the plate. He needs to clean up his receiving but he's a good blocker and should become an overall average defender. He has solid arm strength and gets rid of his throws in a hurry.

Tiger and Brock seem like the best picks of the day through 8 rounds.

Case Matter

From Prospects Live:

A reliever from Washington, Matter is much like William Privette. He throws his fastball a big majority of the time, sitting in the mid-90s and getting up to 97 MPH, showcasing solid life and ride. He throws two different breaking balls, a harder slider with tilt and a bigger curveball, but both take a backseat to the heater. He's an interesting arm that could benefit greatly from a solid pitching development program.

From Future Star Series:

The pride of Mill Creek, Washington, Matter has some really intriguing pure stuff that has scouts' attention. The fastball is his best pitch, touching 97 and comfortably resting 92-95 on any given night. It's a super-vertical heater that really hops over hitters' bats. The potential is there for a plus fastball and a true weapon out of the bullpen. Matter has struggled with command during his time on Montlake, a big development piece for the whippy righty moving forward.

Next time we have a player go to the HR Derby, they should bring someone besides Beasley with them.
