Wandy was waived also.

I appreciate what he did while he was here. But the honeymoon is over, and we needed an annulment.

Bye Wandy, and thanks for the memories.

WOW. Never heard of Strausborger.

There's a reason for that. Which leads me to why is this guy who we decided to call up? I've never mentioned him because he's never been someone worth mentioning. The club is around him all the time so they obviously think he can help us. The options are limited. It's Hoying, Choice, or Strausborger. Yuck

I heard on the radio today that Holland told BenRogers that he was hitting 98 on the gun. I don't remember him ever being above 95-96. If true, that is amazing, and I can't wait to see how his rehab start goes tonight.

Martin optioned to round rock . Ryan Strausborger called up.

Straus has been around, does have 27 stolen bases which I was surprised to see.

Think I would have stuck with Wilson since he has been swinging the bat pretty well.

Maybe Gallardo prefers Gimenez... who knows.

Not sure how they could have much of a preference after a couple games, but did Chris catch Yoga's last start? Maybe the one game familiarity even as a SSS, is why?

Defensively in terms of Defensive Runs Saved:
C: Chirinos 4 (T-4th)
1B: Moreland 2 (T-10th)
2B: Odor -5 (T-23rd)
3B: Beltre 11 (3rd)
SS: Andrus -6 (25th)
OF: Martin 13, Choo -10, DDJ -5 (top 3 OFers by innings), Hamilton is at -2 in half as many innings as the others, Rua is at 0 in even fewer

Most defenders grade well, especially; Moreland, Beltre, Martin & Chirinos
A couple grade well except errors hurt them a lot; Andrus & Odor
And a couple are just not good defenders, either where they're having to play or b/c they suck; Choo & DDJ in CF

DDJ doesn't seem that bad, but I guess he passes the eye test, but he's actually much better in LF at +1 than CF at -6... so if Martin could hit .250+ he would actually be an asset in CF... DDJ goes to LF and you go with the lesser of evils in RF (Hamilton/Choo/Rua)

Unfortunately Martin has been unable to do that

Looks to me that they're just alternating them everyday

Gimenez's 2 starts are in SF, Martinez's (W, 6-3) & Perez's (W 2-1)

Wilson SF; Hamels' (L, 7-9) & Lewis' last night (W, 12-9)

Nah, it was Chirinos last time for Gallardo.

Martin is a very good CF. But you just keep thinking Choo most of all and Hamilton will wake up. Martin you just don't think he ever well with the bat. So maybe using him as our 4th OFer has been the best option. This has been one of Choo's worst in regards to OBP of any year with a decent number of ABs.

So i guess its as JTA says, they're probably just alternating between starts then it would seem. I was guessing, cause i didnt have time to look. Probaby not much drop off between them and what we had, aside from Chirinos' HR's and few little streaks over a couple games

I'm probably off base but this August heat may be a factor

Hopefully he can keep that average ticking upwards and making solid contact and maybe pitchers will start to pitch around him more, who knows

Maybe the hope is that they can get Martin's bat going by beating up on some AAA pitching for a bit

The return visit helped Odor's bat, though I think we all know he is clearly the better offensive player. Maybe it will help LM's bat, get at least warm to the touch.
