Boston manhandled the Yankees last night and now with Gerrit Cole on the mound a 190 hitter in Urias hit a grand slam in the 2nd inning off of him.

I can’t believe they haven’t fired Aaron Boone yet. They have fired managers for far less in the past.

The game wasn’t over. Those runs still count. The pitchers didn’t just give them those runs for free. Corey Seager came within a few feet of tying the game.

And 4 runs alone isn’t a problem. That should be a win on most nights.

No JPM in the lineup today.

Other than Leody being in there for JPM, that is about the best lineup they can field right now. I have way more confidence in Duran rediscovering his groove than Josh Smith ever finding his.

Gray has distanced himself in the last couple of outings from Heaney in who should go to the BP when Eovaldi comes back and also makes it real clear why we do not want a 6 man rotation.

And once Eovaldi returns, both the rotation and bullpen get better. No more Heaney in the rotation, and then hopefully they fire Anderson into the sun and Heaney takes his place. Neither Heaney nor Perez were great in the rotation this season, but they are light years better than the likes of King and Anderson for an inning or two.

Not so much anymore. I posted that when it was still 2-1, we had been having better at-bats, and Dunning was still in and rolling. Then they put Perez in and the offense went back to sleep.

This is one of the worst all-around efforts they’ve had since the AS break.

Our hitting has been absent today for sure. But the pitching has been just as bad, if not worse.

We are allowing WAY too many hits to a team with awful hitting. Their lineup is a laughingstock, yet they’re putting up double digit hits on us every game. Every inning is a struggle for our pitchers.

And yet they have totally dominated us offensively and pitching wise. And our response has been pretty much surrender
