I witness that abortion. Our pitching, defense and offense sucked. Sborz threw more balls than strikes. Heaney sucked Burke was bad Anderson was worse
Sborz and Burke gave up 6 earned runs in 1 and 1/3 innings tonight.
Matt Moore has given up 7 earned runs all season

Outside of a couple guys our bullpen stinks. When Bochy is putting Grant Anderson in the game in a high leverage spot you can pretty much assume the game is lost. I thought Sborz had figured it out. Nope.

Matt Moore sure would look nice in our bullpen. Oh well.

To be fair, one of Burke’s “earned” runs was put on base by Bochy with the intentional walk. And, Burke wasn’t the one who allowed those runs to score. That was sorry-ass Anderson.

Burke gave up a weak single, a double, and that’s it. And before he knew it, he was on the bench with 3 earned runs to his credit. Not saying he was perfect, but giving up 2 hits isn’t the worst outing.

Our offense put up 8 runs. They weren’t the problem. Bochy’s mismanagement, along with the tandem of Sborz and Anderson and Heaney’s weak start, were entirely to blame.

Gray has distanced himself in the last couple of outings from Heaney in who should go to the BP when Eovaldi comes back and also makes it real clear why we do not want a 6 man rotation.

Corey Seager's game-ending flyout had an xBA of .850 and would've been a home run in 18/30 parks, including in Milwaukee.

FWIW

I know, Burke got stuck with those runs. I was trying to make a point.

Boston manhandled the Yankees last night and now with Gerrit Cole on the mound a 190 hitter in Urias hit a grand slam in the 2nd inning off of him.
