At this point I think Smith may get better offensively as well. How pressure is handled I don’t know and RG for a bit last night but one AB too late

At this point, all of the other 12 position players on the 26 man deserve to play more than Grossman. If Miller comes back than that changes, but let's hope we don't weaken the tem by bringing Miller back.

One thing to keep in mind is that just because we do not trade prospects for Ohtani, that does not mean some of those prospects won't be traded for other winning pieces at some point.

Yes Duran in LF Janks plays sporadically
Robbie DH sometimes but Garver there more for All LHP

the thing with Ohtani is: to trade for him means to send one of the largest packages ever in return. even if he was willing to agree to an extension, it would take most likely the largest contract ever issued in MLB.

I imagine it would take at least Duran and Dunning, and at least 4 prospects (2 hitters and 2 pitchers). at minimum.

No deal if it includes any players on the major league roster.
Anything else is fair game. Quite possibly the best player in the game and he accomplishes two things/positions. Can't worry about all the what ifs in regards to injury.

Maybe. Many of those guys are already on the roster. But I am in agreement with if extension then wait for free agency and I say empty the pockets on this guy.
The most amazing scenario and this is a huge wish list is if deGrom came the last half healthy with Gray and Eovaldi.

If we do trade for him they have to take Grossman no matter what else we give them

yep. adding him to the franchise for money instead of prospects is the smarter play.

it does come with the caveat that they will be out on any other big names for quite a few years. get ready for a ton of Grossmans.

Bochy will probably keep Heaney in the rotation for a while. He was awful a couple days ago with 105 pitches in 3 2/3 rd but he only gave up 1 run & 5 hits.
