I heard on the radio today that they're interested in Price. Not sure if it's true or if they have the pieces that TB will command. TB will fleece them one way or another.
I was hearing also that they like Huston Street from the Padres...can offer up some hitters that the Padres so desperately need, like Cron.

Go ahead, trade for a Price or Street....shred their future even more!:yahoo:

Kinda hope they get him just to see them fleeced. The only year (hopefully) we really wouldn't care. Still no way they'd catch the A's.

I agree as long as Price doesn't sign an extension first, which would be dumb as hell on his part.
I believe Price has 1 more year so they would get better short term

Honestly, from what I've been hearing about Price this year, he may be in decline...could be a function of the Rays rotten season though. Still, signing Price for some 5 year deal (post trade) could be a big mistake?

They can have much of a farm yet unless they got someone really good in the last draft. I could be wrong though.

I see we are getting Richards in the first game. As far as I am concerned he has been their best pitcher this year.

For me it's not who we get. It's what our pitchers do. We can not score enough runs to win until we get some decent pitching through six or seven innings. The BP can not hold and understandably so. Just my thoughts.

Carlos Pena was 1-2 w/ 2 BBs tonight. In 3 games he's 3-9 w/ a .400 OBP. We could use his power I guess, but he has struck out a ton in his career.

Strikes out a ton and recent years BA has rivaled JPA early this season. Had a 39 hr year in 09 and made the AS team while batting .227. Slugged 46 hrs in 07 and had a career year in BA at .282. Probably another Manny Ramirez signing from last year, just filler unless another couple guys go down to injury.

We released Daniel Bard.

I feel bad for the guy. Maybe he should try to become a position player like Rick Ankiel did after he became fried between the ears and couldn't throw a strike to save his life. When your mind and muscles completely refuse to remember how to throw a ball though, it's an insanely tough thing to overcome. Steve Sax and Chuck Knoblauch sure couldn't do it.

On Joey Gallo:

His minor league stats suggest Gallo, 20, is an elite power prospect. And the Rangers’ recent history — dating to the turn of this century — suggests that elite power prospects spend about as much time in Double-A as it takes for one of their homers to leave Dr Pepper Ballpark.

In that same historical snapshot, the Rangers’ track record for turning elite power prospects into elite power hitters has been poor.

Consider this: The last player to have a 30-home run, 100-RBI season for the Rangers who was drafted or signed as an amateur free agent was Mark Teixeira. He was drafted in 2001.

Since the start of the season the two have texted on several occasions so that Giambi could monitor Gallo’s progress.

The numbers have shown up all year in Gallo’s on-base percentage and walk rate. A year ago, he had a .338 on-base percentage and struck out more than three times for every walk. This year, his batting average is .320 and his OBP is more than 100 points higher than last year at .463. He entered Thursday with 77 strikeouts and 60 walks.

I'm afraid it's a by-product of poor Richard's passing, there's just no news coming out of the Rangers camp or on the Rangers. At least from ESPN. And not really any meaningful tweets.

I'm sure they're trying to find a competent replacement. I really liked Richards articles. Just sorry that I have to use the past tense.

I wonder if we'll have any interest in Yasmani Tomas, a power hitting COF that just defected from Cuba.

Kenta Maeda is another FA to keep our eye on. He's a 26 year old Japanese pitcher. His ERA has been under 2.46 since 2010.

he might be one answer in the off-season but i think we need to add at least 2 starters in the off-season
