I mean, it's one thing to trade an established veteran who might be in the final year or years of his contract. But a still rising young starter? Are the Sox shooting to be a team that has nothing but journeymen and minor league prospects in their organization? If you don't want to build thru a young, but proven starting pitcher, who is already showing signs of domination, then who? This kid is the one member of the team where fans actually look forward to watching the Sox play in a game. All I know is Getz better bring in a fucking haul if he does end up trading Crochet. Geez.

It’s going to happen. Your only shot is that some team won’t cough up enough their decent prospects. But I’d say that’s like 10% at this point. Normal teams will pay for a young quality starting pitcher.

Robert and Benitendi will be much harder sells for the Sox because of injury and suckitude, respectively.

I say 90% Crochet is gone…50/50 both Crochet and Robert are gone.

As for Benitendi, also rumored on the block, gotta be a small chance another team would be suckered into him…but that would be nice…so obviously not going to happen. LOL

here's how smart the sox are. tie game bottom of the 9th. one out, runner on third (cause of a wild pitch). 3-2 on the batter. do they intentionally walk the batter to set up the double play (seeing as how the runner at first would be in consequential)? no. they pitch to him. sac fly game over.

Local guys on the radio were really railing into Grifol this morning..."Fundamentals were better under LaRussa and he was sleeping half the time" LOL.



In other news...

We are 9-16 over our past 25 games. A .360 clip.

We have 75 games to go.

We need to go 26-49 to hit 50 games.

A .360 clip over the final 75 is 27 wins.

Maybe we'll just end up being really bad rather than historically bad.

Even at 3-0, Crochet didn't look great. He was zipping 98 MPH four seamers but it seemed like every batter he'd go up 0-2 or 1-2 and then just couldn't finish them off.

The bunt right to the pitcher (after showing bunt twice) where DeJong got caught in no man's land was just....I guess we'll say "fundamental Chicago White Sox baseball" and leave it at that.

I mean...It's the Sox but since we were playing an equally inept team I felt confidence for a moment at 3-0...Eh well. Drowned my sorrow in Yucca Nachos.
