Damn straight. The best part of this White Sox opening season for me is - they haven't played their best baseball yet.
You're right (as usual). They really haven't put all phases together in one solid package yet, or at least not for any stretch of games. The starting pitching has been the most consistent aspect to date. But the offense, defense, and surprisingly the pen have sputtered at times. Of course TLR should fall into the latter category as well. His game-game management and just his overall approach to handling each game can easily be described as inconsistent at best.

Been a while since I checked our top prospects list:

Interesting that with players like Kopech, Madrigal, Vaughn, and Crochet officially removed from the prospects list, we're now largely led by high school draft selections....and of course a Cuban thrown in for good measure. :welcome:

That's pretty much exactly what you want especially considering they are without Robert and Jimenez.

It's disappointing that Cespedes still isn't playing on a White Sox affiliate team.

Wow...Better teams do better against us? I, for one, am shocked.

What I see is we hang just fine with the big boys....It's all about how the ball bounces and who gets hot in September....and obviously maintaining our position in the regular season so we get that chance.

Speaking of the upcoming draft - ok, so no one's really talking about it - but anyway, we're still a little over a month away with the '21 draft, and I really don't have a friggin clue to who the Sox might take with the 22nd pick. I'm sure like most teams in just about every sport, they go with the BPA, as in whoever's highest on the board and available when it's their turn to select. But here's to hoping they at least give serious consideration to the catcher position. It's far and away our weakest spot in the organization. Second weakest isn't even on the radar comparatively. And fuck me 10 times over with a cactus limb if they take as their BPA another 1B/DH. Enough already!!!

does anyone suppose every team in the game has a bonafide lip reader watching every game via closed circuit tv? i don't recall a time in the last 30 years or so when a manager or whoever isn't covering their mouths when they discuss the situation.

The plan to transition Kopech from the pen to the starting rotation is obvious. Kopech was getting two innings at a time - sometimes into a 3rd and was starting some 7 inning doubleheader games.

Crochet on the other hand - not so obvious. Despite his success on the field - he only pitches about 1 inning maybe twice a week. The Sox are treating him like he is breakable. He is not on any path so far this season that would result in getting him ready for a crack at the rotation next season.

Keuchel seems to have found his footing to a certain degree. He's 4-1 in his last 5 starts with an ERA of 3.54 and a whip of 1.11 - not bad at all.

i can't complain about the record but he still worries me. he averages less than 6 innings a game (last 5 anyway) and that leaves us depending on a shaky relief staff a lot. we have also scored 41 runs in those 5 games. how long do you think tat will go on?
