Congrats to the A's. The better team won the series. Detroit's bats just disappeared the last month plus of the season. It doesn't matter who was on the mound -- Detroit made them look like a Cy Young candidate, topping it off by being no-hit by Henderson Alvarez in the last game of the season.

Worst possible time for the entire team to start struggling at the plate. It seemed as soon as Cabrera's injuries caught up to him, the rest of the lineup lost faith in their own swings.

Well -- Represent the AL better than Detroit did last year!!!!

They had all the pitching to go far too. Didn't see this coming. Got to give props to Oakland for battling even though they had lost Game 1.

Into the late innings we go. Gonna be an exciting finish. Whose gonna be the "Juan Uribe" tonight?

I honestly have no idea what the game plan is here. Verlander in game 5 makes a lot of sense though.

I think its a let it play out approach. If he goes 1 or 2 quick innings and the Tigers get the lead...its probably Veras/benoit time. And Max could go game 5.

But if this baby stays tied. Are they planning on having him go 3,4,5 innings? That may mean JV has to go(not that its a bad thing).

We'll see.

The bullpen is our biggest weakness. With the day off for traveling and stuff, it makes sense to go with our biggest strength (starting rotation).

Oh no...

Coco Crisp has got to be one of the most underrated players in the game. This dude is on fire.

The OP can play it off like that, but I really believe he gave up on his team in the 5th inning only down 3-0.

I did the same thing when Detroit was down 3-0 in game 3. I was trying to give the team some mojo.

Now that it is 4-3 -- the game is definitely over though, so it doesn't matter.

Congrats, Oakland. Detroit showed in game three they can't come back after being down a second time in a game. Well played. Best of luck the rest of the way.
