Nope? How in the world do you figure? 13-1, 1.04 era, no hitter.. too late for me to look up the other shit but if someone has been better than that since the halfway point I'd love to hear about it cuz I missed it

Kershaw has similar numbers to Arrieta since the ASG except with 20 more strikeouts, half the walks, and 1 less start. Oh and he hasn't suffered a loss since the ASG either.

Greinke: 18-3, 1.65 ERA, 185 SO, .85 WHIP, 8.5 WAR, 226 ERA+
Arrienta: 19-6, 1.96 ERA, 209 SO, .92 WHIP, 7.4 WAR, 201 ERA+
Kershaw: 14-6, 2.12 ERA, 264 SO, .89 WHIP, 6.6 WAR, 176 ERA+

Greinke should win it IMO. Only thing Arrieta has the advantage in is strikeouts.

I'm sure @rmilia1 will disagree but Greinke's season is historically great. I'd say it's a top 10 season over the last 100 years. Which is saying something.

No Greinke SHOULD win but I think he may not AND I said Arrieta has been the best pitcher SECOND half and he has

I know ERA is not cool but Arrieta has a sub 1 ERA since the ASG and I also know wins are overvalued by some but having 13 of them is still pretty OK by me. LOL.

Kershaw's ERA is 1.06... lol. Arrieta is 9-1 since the ASG, not 13-1. Kershaw is 8-0.

On a sidenote I really cant remember a year where a league had 3 guys that were ALL deserving of the Cy Young. Hell most years there isnt more than 1.

Hey V whats your take on the Mets?? Talking about this in another thread. Im personally think their second half numbers are being propped up by who theyve played but whats you take?

Eh, I still take Arrieta. His numbers are drug down a bit by walks but his stuff is nasty ( as evidenced by his ERA and lowest BABIP). Kershaw has been great though for sure.

BABIP is not a skill. Arrieta is haveing a great year. Kershaw, greaterer.

I think that's a silly way of approaching things, especially if you're going to use it to invalidate half of a season's success. The Mets are very good. Solid pitching staff, their hitters are all playing very well. They're good at things related to baseball and the winning of baseball games.

Was speaking more to their hitting, their pitching has been excellent all year. Just not sure they can score enough runs to beat quality pitching staffs.

Do you have a reason to be worried about their hitting? They have the best wOBA and wRC+ in the NL (only behind Toronto for best in bigs) in the second half. They have the 6th highest position player fWAR for the season.

Yes I think they should be worried... unless they're playing Miami, Atlanta, Philly and Colorado in the playoffs

Well, I don't expect them to advance past the NLDS if they end up playing the Dodgers. They're still a good team, I'd expect that to be a great series.

The Dodgers are the only playoff team the Mets have a winning record against. Probably because they are so similar. Great staffs with suspect offenses

Dodgers offense is suspect for sure. Not as suspect as STL or NYM but still a question. The good thing for LA is they can roll out Greinke and Kershaw 4 out of 7 games so it may not matter lol

To my point though. LA is 10-20 vs current playoff teams and is averaging 2.8 runs per game in those 30 games. Pretty poor
