I had a couple of thoughts :

1- Two words : 2012 Giants.

2- You know the kind of fans that Dodger fans are? You could buy tickets from the dodger site to each of the 3 NLCS home games the day before each game (and probably the day of). That says it all.

Hmmm, I seem to remember the Cards being up 3-1 in the NLCS last season. It escapes me at the moment how that turned out, but it will come back to me.

Tough call ... they get Kershaw on Friday ... and if they can't get past him they have Ryu on Saturday .... yesterday was their best chance IMHO. Really wouldn't want to face Kershaw and Ryu with everything on the line.

Kershaw I'll grant you but Ryu? He's good but looks like Grantland had it right, Cards in 7 winning at home with Wainwright vs Ryu.

I agree with you about Ryu but I also think if LA wins on Friday ... I think the Cards will be super tight on Saturday and the thoughts of last year will hanging over them. I know as professionals they shouldn't let things like that bother them ..... but it has to be something they are thinking about .... either way it's wierd ..... don't want the Doyers to advance but not thrilled with the Turdnals either. Actually, none of the final 4 are what I wanted to see in the WS. Really describes the 'less of two evils' concept for me!

The stat of the night....St. Louis which has had trouble against left handed pitching was 4-0 against Kershaw in their last 4 starts. You can now make that 5-0.

Love it.

And you know, Kershaw is one of the best there is, but he can't carry the playoff jocks of Cain, Bum, Timmy, heck even Zito right now (Zito didn't pitch in 2010, his one year of playoffs with us he was straight unicorn). At least not yet.

In 2010 our trio came to the playoffs and kicked their ass. Kershaw can't say shit to them about playoffs.

Well done Cards...

Now let's hope for a Detroit comeback for the ages. Unlike Kershaw, Verlander is a fucking beast in the playoffs, if they get it to game 7 they win IMO.
