Rumors say that Quiroz will make the roster because Boch wants Susac as a PH option.

If Morse is able to go, he makes the roster, even just as a PH.

While I do not like what Perez is showing, Brown is in the perma-doghouse.

I figure that leaves 4 bully spots up for grabs.

Gutierez and Vogey get left off, but I think Gutierez SHOULD be on in place of Timmeh, but that wont happen (he may make it in place of Kontos, though)

Doesn't sound like we can count on Morse.

Assuming the first 18, I'll go with:

Quiroz, Perez, Petit, Duvall, Lincecum, Kontos, Dominguez.

Perez and Brown is a toss up, but they've ran with Perez to this point. Quiroz for the reason cal mentioned. Petit/Lincecum/Kontos can all go multiple innings, so in a long extra-innings scenario we can go deep. Duvall and Dominguez can provide some pop in a pinch-hit role. IF Morse is ready, he'd replace one of them.

My guess is Bochy is going to look at splits and matchups versus Volquez. He will keep a few for defensive purposes but look for success against Volquez or what he has the biggest problem. I will say I can be wrong but thats pretty much the way Bruce decides things which has worked very well for him.

Is that the entirety of historical matchups? I don't see Craw getting benched in favor of Arias or Duffy because of these numbers, so I am not sure this bears any influence on the roster/lineup construction.

I guess Peavy is around in the even of an extra-inning game. I am OK with that. It is only one slot, and our offense is not enough to trust we can score at will to prevent a marathon. I am not sure what the point of Timmeh is. I would rather have Cordier or Gutierez.

All you can do set your roster to account to the most likely situations, and if you can cover a more far-fetched situation at little cost, than you do that (Peavy on the roster for the event of a marathon).

I don't HATE any of the roster choices. Cordier and Gutierez are not world-beaters that HAD to be on the roster. I am just picking nits with taking Timmeh over them.

Just my guess but I think Lincecum will take the mound should MadBum get hammered in the first 2 or 3 innings. Unlikely scenerio but you never know. Peavy will probably be the late relief should it go into extra, extra innings. Everyone else should fill their normal roles. Just a guess on my part.
