Take this to a logical conclusion. If you are projected to be the #1 pick, why even play in a playoff game? No matter how good a player is, if the college coach felt he could recruit a better replacement , he would. If you are projected to #1 at your position (even if not a QB) there is no upside to playing as you can do nothing but lose that position.

What will be the cut-off point?

Right now, they're sitting out a bowl game.

Do they move that back to when their team is eliminated from
a possible selection into the CFP, they, then leave the team.

What about their entire senior year?

Why doesn't the NFL just draft them out of High School and
play in a developmental league?

I know the NFL doesn't want to spend that money but CFB/NCAA
could force that upon them.
There are already a few that have done that (at least 2 this season).

This ^^ I don't like it, but I get the economics. I think sitting out the CFP or a top tier bowl is another story though
Is playing in a meaningful bowl game worth risking millions of dollars?

He dodged a bullet, was it worth the risk. If he had career altering injury, 2 years from now he would have been forgotten.

We'll see. I feel more confident now than I did 24 hours ago, but that's only at about a 3% chance.
If he were projected to be in the top three, should he stay? Would you? Top 10?

Hell no. If I was a top 15 lock, as it's appearing he may be already, I'm definitely not coming back.

Yes, as there is no crystal ball to say the player in question would lose millions or even get hurt. I can flip the script and say, " is playing in a meaningful bowl game that could increase your draft position and potentially millions of dollars in additional money worth the effort?

The slippery slope in the other direction could say, that after a year of college ball, why not go get paid at the next level and avoid any injuries at all? Then, taking that again to the next level, why even play college ball at all. Jsut go straight to pros after HS, and work in their development program for a few years and get paid less than millions, but still a lot.

Will Grier not playing in the bowl game. Joins teammate Yodny Cajuste in skipping. WVU will now be without their starting QB and T.

You guys should be playing in the Sugar Bowl and I'm sure Grier would've played in a meaningful bowl

Perhaps they should pay the players more than a watch and a $200 Amazon gift card. Then they might play.

My bad, sorry to apply a capitalistic solution to this. I forget the most important rule of college athletics is "Thou Shalt Not Pay Thine Players"

Fuck their reasoning. Guys have been declaring early for the draft and still played in their bowl games for decades. Once again, bitch ass pussy millenials who think they are entitled. Fuck all of them.....

This is where I'm at. I couldn't turn my back on my boys like that.

This just sucks. :L SU was a 7 point dog now the line is down to 1.5 ... which still surprises me. I didn't think WV was a 7 point favor with these two studs, but now, we will never know.

@GoldRusher wtf dude?

Add LSU’s Ed Alexander to the list. Guess he is concerned about losing his round 5/6/7/UDFA money?
