Just remember, it will be the same people running the show next season. Personally I am not hopeful of any significant change and if I am one of the top free agents I would want nothing to do with Kapler.
KAPLER SAID HE IS OPEN FOR SUGGESTIONS. Only time will tell. Free agents will follow the money.

Free agents will follow the money until they sense that the situation will devalue them for the next contract.
As for Kapler, he is an analytics guy who will always follow it even if he makes some adjustments.

You may be right. But Flex will lose at least 5 of those games that they are capable of winning. Some of this may fall on Klentak too. They plan on trading Franco and Hernandez. Thus making Santana the 3rd baseman. Kingery will be
the starting shortstop. Santana can field well when it is hit at him, but his range is the worst among all 3rd basemen.
Thus more hits get by him. These are mostly rumors for now, but it shows how they are thinking.

I’m still not sure they should trade Franco, .270/.315, 22 HRs, low rbi at 68, but solid defense most of the time. Maybe 30 HR next year. He’s one who needs winter ball.

I'd be good with:

Herrera
Kingery
Harper
Hoskins
Williams
Franco
Alfaro
Crawford

I was more impressed with Santana after looking at where he stood in the team stats. He only hit .229 but his .352 OBP, 110 walks, 82 runs scored, 24 HR, and 86 RBI are significant in view of the fact that the Phils were 5th worst in NL runs. I'm not saying don't trade him at 33, but Phils have some work to do.

While he did strike out 93 times, six Phillies struck out over 100 times (111-150). He was actually one of the Phils' better producers. Where he ranked on the team:
HR - 2nd
Doubles - 2nd
Walks - 1st
RBI - 2nd
Walks - 2nd
OBP - 3rd
SLG - 3rd

Certainly decent stats. However, Hoskins is a liability in left field. Moving Santana to 3rd base is also a defensive liability.
That would send Franco to the bench or cause the Phillies to trade him. Keep the younger guys and trade Santana for some
pitching.

I agree. Rhys must play first especially since they need to make room for Harper :hope:. Carlos does have much value for the right team in a trade.

Latest news! Segura to the Phillies on Monday. Just needs to pass physical. Phillies trading Crawford and a few other prospects to be named on Monday. Love this move. A .300 hitter with good defense!

Great move to get SS Segura. Something like .309/.346/.756. 178 hits! Wonder who Phils have to give up other than JP. Hail to FO for this one, so far.

The other players in the deal have not been told yet. So we will know on Monday.
