I expected a sweep. If they can only win one in KC, at least they'll have a .500 road trip.

I read that they would rest McCutchen more so he stays fresh then Cesar would take the leadoff spot. Cutch has 59 hits and walks; Cesar 52. It depends on how things work out this month.

Tonight’s game is in the bag. Small struggle in the 4th but Eflin’s on, averaging 12 pitches in first four innings. 4-0 lead and more to come.

Cole Irwin gets his 1st Major league start today. Not a strikeout type, but uses finesse. ERA under three at Lehigh!

This will be an exciting game. To see a young guy with Irvin’s fine record make his first ML start. We don’t need to see Phils hitting flounder and regress to full retard, today.

Irvin was the International League Pitcher of the Year in 2018 and owns a 16-4 mark with a 2.51 ERA since the start of last season with the IronPigs. He is 2-0 with a 2.25 ERA in six starts in 2019.

Plus in four years from A thru AAA, he’s 30-14, 2.78, and 300 Ks, less than 100 walks.
