The Dodgers signed Cole Hamels as well. Apparently Hamels can still get it done and we got rid of the dude for what reason again?

IDK. My friend told me that it was because Hamels was a good pitcher on an awful team that was in the midst of a full tear-down and rebuild, so the front office figured they should trade him for some prospects.

But my friend is also not mentally retarded, so I don't know if that changes the calculus at all.
