I looked this up, we did draft Bourn, so I guess he was the last good outfielder we've drafted. And we drafted him in 2003. Lol
Yeah those years when they were making the playoffs and drafting near the end they got almost no one that even made the majors. Then in 2016 they had the first pick every round and so far the only one that has done anything in the majors is Cole Irvin, a pitcher that is on the A's now. (and he's not exactly setting the world on fire).

But I guess you gotta have hope. Maybe next year Cornelius Randolph will come into the spring hitting the cover off the ball.

Honorable mention to 1b/LF Jon Singleton who the Phillies shrewdly picked up in round 8 of the 2009 draft, then shipped him to Houston in the Hunter Pence deal. At which time the Astros decided he was so good they needed to lock him up through his arbitration years so they gave him 8 million bucks or something. From there he had 2 awful half seasons with the 'stros and slipped into obscurity. Until now, as he's got 15 bombs in 137 ABs in the Mexican league. Is it time to bring him back????

It looks like they are not ready for a rebuild. Fuck it, lets back up the truck and go shopping. Maybe grab Correa, Robbie Ray, Carlos Rodon, some relievers, two of those, six of these, a box of orange balls and a box of those naked lady tees...........

The reason the Bitches go far into the post-season and this year, all the way to the World Series and the Dildoes go home again at the end of the season is because the Bitches have an ingrained set of methods that produce perennial winners and championships. These are proven methods that are clearly practiced and sustained.

The Dildoes conversely, are so confused, they as a franchise have lost their way and they have no idea how to return to those winning days. It will be a long time before the Dildoes die and are replaced by some of those winning strategies the Bitches utilize nearly every year.

I suspect the Dildoes may never see a post-season game again as long as the Dildoes continue to employ garbage players who are just looking to get paid and who have little aspirations for little else.

If you are curious, here is how the Bitches do it and these are some of the exact areas the Dildoes are failing miserably!

Their main weakness seems to be drafting, acquiring and/or developing the young players. The 3 big name guys they brought in have all lived up to expectations (Wheeler has far surpassed my expectations). Of course it doesn't take an analytical genius to figure out that Harper and Realmuto will be good because they were already good.
One thing the teams that contend for a while always seem to have is good young infielders that play together for a few years. The Braves seem set with Swanson, Albies and Riley. We need the next Utley and Rollins. I won't even ask for the next Schmitty because he was the best player I ever saw and I'm sure it was a fluke that we drafted him in the first place.

Actually Schmidt was drafted when John Quinn was GM. He was the guy who signed all those guys in the late 60's early 70's like Luzinski, Boone, Bowa, Schmidt, then Paul Owens came in in 1972 and took all the glory. Just like when he fired Pat Corrales in the middle of the season when the Phils were in first place in 1983.

Here is what Todd Zolecki has to say about what the Phillies should be doing in the off-season.

Here is a list of FAs for 2021-2022. Are the Dildoes doing anything with any of these people? Nope. Too busy messin' around with holiday crap or something.

I suspect the Dildoes will wait until the last minute and then go dumpster-diving to find some piece of garbage to bring in.

Since the CBA is not going well and it expires Wednesday, tomorrow, December 1, 2021 which is precipitating a lock-out, the FA market has opened and it has exploded. Teams want to sign FAs ASAP so that their deals are protected against what is coming.

The Phillies/Dildoes seem to be one of the teams not doing too much (as usual). However, the Phillies apparently have some interest in Korey Knebel (pitcher from the Dodgers) and Chris Taylor (infielder that is a friend of Bryce Harper). We shall see if they sign anybody by tomorrow.

Well, here is an article that outlines exactly what the Dildoes ARE doing. They signed a pitcher off waivers from the Bitches: A Yoan Lopez. They sent Roman Quinn down for seasoning and also traded for a pair of catchers for Realmuto back-up depth. They are still interested in some of the bigger names I listed previously like Kyle Schwarber.
