Magic's name didn't exactly have free agents flocking to join the Lakers. Lebron went because he's setting himself up for life after basketball. Magic has zero experience as a PBO.
The Lakers have no one in house to recruit, and that is what free agency is about. He's not smart enough to be an executive, but they needs his clout.

Which is why his exit isn't a bad thing, as long as they put a proper PBO in his role.

Magic doesn't have to be "in house" to recruit. In fact, now he's free of tampering charges.

Per some outlets (SportsHoopla), the Buss spawn are being advised (by me) to sell the team.

No NBA All-star gives two shits about Magic's "clout". Especially when the Lakers are ran like a fucking circus.

But they're not going to do that. They're allowing the Rambis family and Pelinka to run the show.

...in the absence of a newly hired president. They have to hire a president. You can't have a newbie GM or second rate assistant coach take that role.

Poor Laker fans got absolutely played by LeBron. He didn't go to LA to win rings, he didn't go to LA to leave a legacy with the franchise as rebuilding it into a title winner. LeBron went to LA to use Los Angeles to build his brand and start building his legacy beyond the basketball court.

I mean the guy has his own TV show now that he is producing or directing or whatever it is. He's on the downhill end of his career and he is ready to start looking for what's after basketball.

If Kawhi doesnt want back it would be a good plan B for Toronto.
LeBron with Toronto's roster >lebron with lakers roster

It actually would be a great plan B for Toronto.

If Kawhi leaves, they may very well have to start over if they can't replace him with another star player.

A sign and trade for Lebron would give them a couple of seasons to try to get to the finals before rebuilding.

Assuming Siakam continues to develop, that would give you your piece to build around once Lebron left and he'd be just starting his prime years.

Not happening, but it would be good for both teams.

LeBron would NEVER go to Toronto. That does NOTHING for his brand. God I think LeBron would retire if he was traded to Toronto.

Anyone here thinkin LeBron is still playing basketball for his basketball career and to win titles is delusional.

Nothing says downside of your career quite like 27/8/8 (vs career averages of 27/7/7).

Exactly. I don't care if a player scores 80 points. If they lose, whats the point?

You claimed Lebron was on the downside of his career, yet every stat across the board is virtually the same as last year other than his FT%. The difference in win/loss? Team injuries (including Lebron's), and the Lakers missed on adding a 2nd max player last summer. Now that task falls to this summer (if the spawn can manage to hire a president and coach without embarrassing the franchise further).
