^this

-Hire Guy Boucher
-Sign Lindback to a 1 year contract
-Have Sid & Geno fake injuries
-Draft Connor McDavid

Works for me.

Nah....Just let EJ coach the team. It worked the last time.

Might as well, I'm fine with just picking someone stupid to take the fall for next season. No matter who we hire, I got a feeling they'll start on the wrong foot and go down in flames.

No one to blame but themselves, current braintrust (Mario, Burkle, and Morehouse) are clueless, and while the JR hire wasn't terrible, the search was too long, and left them holding the bag as far as HCs go.

At this point just hire Martin, force him to hire Tochett as an assistant, and see what happens. And in reality, it would be hard to be worse than Dan has been the past few years.

I agree with everything you said except the last part. I think it will be very easy for the Pens to be worse than Dan has been for the past few years. At least Dan got us into the playoffs. For the first time since 2005-06, the playoffs are not a certainty.

Assuming the team is healthy, it would be a feat to miss the playoffs.

Congrats to Sid on the MVP, well deserved, really carried this underachieving team all season the best anyone could.

Not a bad choice, has a good history with dmen , plus has worked with Derrick Pouliot in Portland.

I like that he has a decade's worth of coaching experience in the NHL, but I don't like that his most recent stop was in the WHL coaching/managing a junior team. I just wonder how his resume will be looked upon by the locker room. will they respect this guy?

I think they should. Patrick Roy never coached higher than the QMJHL until the past season & he won the Jack Adams last night.

Tocchet is going to be on Johnston's staff, another bad move. He isnt the coach he thinks he is.
Rutherford out of retirement (didnt he give the Staals those outrageous contracts so whats wrong with shero if rutherford is going to do the same thing) and Tocchet. Thats not direction thats BS
Sid and Tocchet will be a distraction another words addition for subtraction.

I like the hire and also the assistant coach moves.

Tocchet replaces Todd Reirden and Tony Granato, holdovers from Bylsma's staff who were let go on Wednesday. The Penguins retained goaltending coach Mike Bales and video coordinator Andy Saucier. Assistant coach Jacques Martin will also remain with the team in an undetermined capacity.
