Jordan Matthews was cut this morning.

Marcus Cannon left the field with an un diclosed problem. Second time it's happens.

Sony Michel was on a stationary bike, got off and went immediately to the medical tent.

Temp is dropping, humidity going up.

Another one bites the dust
Another one bites the dust
And another one gone, and another one gone
Another one bites the dust
Hey, I'm gonna get you, too
Another one bites the dust
How do you think I'm going to get along
Without you when you're gone?
You took me for everything that I had
And kicked me out on my own
Are you happy, are you satisfied?
How long can you stand the heat?
Out of the doorway the bullets rip
To the sound of the beat
Another one bites the dust
Another one bites the dust
And another one gone, and another one gone
Another one bites the dust
Hey, I'm gonna get you, too
Another one bites the dust

Belichick is getting back to being Mr. Nasty Ass. When asked if he thought the team had improved after a week in camp Mr. Happy Face replied.

This team has a long way to go. We're not even close to the finish line. We've barely got two feet out of the starting blocks. I'm hoping we can just be ready to take the field next week when things start to have some meaning.

I guess this version of the 2018 New England Patriots, just plain sucks. I'm salivating for the first preseason game now.

Good news and Bad news.......

Bad news is that Marcus Cannon left the practice field today with a medical person. When they say a medical person, I'm never sure if that means he walked off with a doctor, a nurse or someone who's working with the medical staff. Problem is still unknown.

Bad news is that Sony Michel left the practice field with medical people. He was on the stationary bike and abruptly went to the medical tent. Report from Training camp Central is that he has a lower left leg injury. When he was drafted there were reports that he had a knee injury in college and played througth it and that it was an injury that didn't require any type of medical procedure. I'm sure more news is forthcoming with this injury.

Bad news is that Jordan Matthews suffered a pretty severe hamstring injury. Mixed reports were that he was released, waived and put on IR. According to Training camp central, he was placed on IR. Mike Giardi and Tom E. Curran say that he will not return and the plan is that he will be released when he completes rehab.

Bad news is that Donta Hightower did something to his shoulder today and was shaking it and hanging it by his side. Didn't leave the practice field, but sure didn't look like he could play a contact 11 on 11.

Bad news is that Mike Gillislee apparently has a minor knee injury. Problem is that he wasn't practicing on the big field, he was over at the conditioning field. Jeremy Hill is taking all of the reps with Rex Burkhead at the goal line.

Good new is that Trent brown has far exceeded the expectations of coacging staff and the media guys are very impressed. He's much, much quicker and faster than they ever could have imagined. At 6'8" and 385 lbs he's imposing to look at but is just tossing defensive players around. He is, without question, the starting left tackle.

Good news is that Tom Brady is starting to look much sharper than he did in the fist couple days od camp. he seems to have a bit more pep in his step and the RBs and WRs are starting to feed off it a bit.

Good news is that Philip Dorsett is rally starting to take to the slot. He's brutally fast off the line and his cuts have been razor sharp. He's making Brady work quicker and Brady seems to be appreciating it and gave him an attaboy.

Good news/Bad news??...........Tom Brady and bill belichick stood in the middle of the practice field talking for at least 10 minutes. No one, player, coach or anybody else even considered approaching them. When it was over, BB slapped TB12 on the shoulder pad. No one knows, asked, or even guessed what the meeting was about. Both apparently walked away very happy. It was not brought up after practice in any press conferences but you know someone is going to to bring it up. I'm praying that the answer from both of them is, "It's none of your fucking business!!"

Sony Michel, How do we keep finding these guys with bad knees???? C'mon Bill!

Jordan Matthews, It's too bad. I was really hoping he would return to Eagles form and be a decent player for us. He was great at Vandy, so kind of a local kid around here. IR tells me they still see something worth spending a nickel on.

Donta Hightower, Hoping he's ok, but damn...and we though Gronk was brittle.

Mike Gillislee, don't think he really panned out last year after a decent start. On the bubble is what I think.

Trent Brown, This is great news. Is he an upgrade over Solder?

Philip Dorsett, This is great news. With his physical tools he can be an absolute weapon. He said himself he was under utilized because of his speed he was pigeon holed as just a deep threat. This could be a great trade by Bill if it all comes together. Fingers crossed.

Bill and Tom, who knows? Maybe Bill was asking Tom about Brian Flores "new" defense and which personnel were executing, or which WR's were improving the quickest??? Or maybe Bill was trying to feel him out for what to get him for his Birthday.

As I've stated previously, when players go into the dome behind the practice field, which is now the Empower Domed Field, the media is not allowed. The eels are slithering around Gillette, trying to catch someone doing something and yesterday one eels spent some time in the parking lot watching a closed door...........

He did see TB and JM walk into the dome. He assumed that Tom and Josh were going to do some work when he saw three other player walk in about a minute behind them. Philip Dorsett, Chris Hogan and surprise.....Jacoby Hollister. Dorsett and Hogan stayed about a half hour or so and left. Brady, Josh and Hollister stayed for about another 45 minutes. When they all walked out, everyone was laughing, smiling and back slapping.

Hollister is listed as a TE. he's around 6'5" or 6'6" but isn't a big frame. He's listed as 245 lbs. He looks like the the big WR that we always seen to covet. Julio Jones, Randy Moss, AJ Green, Antonio Brown...... Brady and Josh must think enough of him that they were willing to put in an extra hour and a half working in the black hole without any cameras or media mouth pieces around to interfere.

Maybe Bill really isn't interested in signing Decker, Inman or Bryantbecause he's got the guy already in camp and he's got a year under his belt in the offense already.

Eric Decker is a Patriot. There are a couple of reasons that this happening. One, Jordan Matthews has been placed on IR and was told he will be released when his hamstring has been rehabbed. Two, and probably more important, Kenny Britt has not been able to practice with pads. Don't be surprised if Britt gets cut soon. There's no place on the roster for guys who can't eventually play.

Another guy who may not be here in a couple of weeks is Cyrus Jones. Cordarelle Patterson looks like he's the kickoff guy and there are certainly much better corners on the team. Jones can't practice in pads and he's another guy that doesn't have or didn't have a lot offer.

Reports are that Brady was finally Tom "BLEEPING" Brady for the first time in camp. He was on WRs today when they didn't run good routes and lit up Riley McCarron when he slowed and Brady threw the ball to a dead spot.

Brandon Bolden has been very impressive and even Brady has been cheering his running and blocking. BB and JM have been giving him a lot of carries.

Trent Brown literally blew up Tre Flowers in 1 on 1. Flowers has been very quiet and could find himself in a back up role if he doesn't do better.

Cordarelle Patterson made an incredible one handed catch of a 50 yard Brian Hoyer pass and really put a huge spark into the practice.

New guy Ryan Lewis is impressing the hell out of everyone playing at the corner across from Stephon Gilmore. He's been given a shot at the first team and has been outstanding against every WR he's gone up against. Very possible that he just might be the surprise starter at LCB. Duke Dawson has pretty much cemented himself as the slot CB.

It was 90 degrees on the field but everyone seemed to be pushing all the way to the end. Very very Competitive day.

Thanks for the updates. I really think this years team is going to be exciting to watch. And while I do not have anything bad to say about Matty P, I just have a feeling that the defense is going to be more formidable this year without him.

I live in Los Angeles and every Monday I have a business lunch with a fellow former MA resident. He thinks the Pats are going to take a step back this year. I totally disagree with him and we debate it every week.

Wow this is all good news. Especially the CB position if it holds up?
Bolden that is quite a surprise.
I think we're going to love the play of Brown.
Patterson can and will be a big play guy if he sticks around. Not an every play guy but a vet who will show up from time to time when needed.
I like what I'm hearing.

Not sure why but I always liked Bolden, he has a humble way about him

His attitude and work are really impressive to everyone, especially Brady. On one 11 on 11, Shaq Mason lost his footing and Ray Guy was coming like a train at Brady and Bolden knocked him totally off his feet. Brady gave him a hug. I saw that video at least four times on different sports segments.

He knows that there are openings for anyone to take advantage of in this camp and he seems to want to do more than special teams.

I'm really started to get excited. Players are starting to get surly. Gronk and van Noy got into a scuffle yesterday and the offenses and defenses had to be whistled by Belichick and the coaching staff. Come next Thursday, these guys will be chomping at the bit to hit someone other than a team mate.

My wife is heading up to Maine for the weekend,so I might just head down to Foxboro tomorrow.

Matthews career is ruined. Many an athlete has had career ruined by bad hamstring. I had a bad grade 2 and my once awesome leg has never been the same.....

NFL Network is at the patriots Camp today with cameras. They interviewed Julian Edelman.
They had a few shots of Decker catching passes. Looks like Gronk would not give up 87 so Decker is wearing the next best thing....86.

Word today is that Brady, Hoyer and Etling will all be in the dome for late work after practice. That's pretty much a direct order that every wide receiver and tight end will be working late too. My guess is that some running backs may be attending. I give my left one to able to be in on that.

“Ray Guy”. He’s probably 80 years old now. I could probably knock him on his ass too! I’m sure he could punt Brady in the nuts pretty hard though! :D

Amazing how a day can go from something planned to hell in a handbasket in a heartbeat,

Decker was sent from the practice field to the conditioning field.

A 700 lb cake in the shape of 12 was brought in. Belichick decided to yank back on Brady's participation in practice along with Gronk and Devon McCourty.

After practice apparently everybody had cake and went to the film rooms to review practice. And that pretty much ended the day.

Some interesting observations....All of sudden, Jason McCourty looks lost. He's getting severely beaten on nearly every pass in his direction. This is really weird, because a week ago, he appeared to be the guys who would opposite Stphon Gilmore. Now he appears to be a guy on a bubble. The kid Ryan Lewis has pretty much taken his spot.

Tre Flowers is making moves for Belichick's dog house. He's been pushed around like the proverbial broom the past couple of days. He has not had one good set against Trent Brown. Is Brown that good or is Flowers actually taking a step back?? Derek Rivers and Dietrich Wise are starting to get more reps.

From evrything I've heard and seen, the back-ups seemed to have a much better day that the expected starters. This just might be what the defense needs. A few of the big guns having a bit of their ammo shaved down and the also rans getting time on the track. Nothing motivates like fear, especially fear of a job loss in the NFL.
