32. New England Patriots: Hakeem Butler, WR, Iowa State

This could start a run on wide receivers; Arizona and San Francisco probably will be looking for pass-catchers early in the second round. Butler is 6-5, 227 pounds and runs a 4.47 40, so he’s a little different than what the Patriots have at receiver and could help in the red zone after the retirement of star tight end Rob Gronkowski.

This would not break my heart one bit.

I think the theme of this draft may be BIG. Defenses have gotten smaller and faster which is why IMO BB drafted Michel last year he runs like a big back. I suspect big WRs and TEs may be a thing this year.

But then again WTF do I know when it comes to the Pats draft, I lack a laser.

Can you see this kid in the slot making a diagonal cut toward the opposite corner. I can see Brady waving him to move faster or deeper with that grin of his.

The mental image is there, that's for damn sure.

Calling my shot for tonight - Pats will trade 32 and 134 to Seattle for 29 and select OL Dalton Risner

I feel the same way, but I think there’s a lot more depth at those spots than OL and next year’s class profiles to be even thinner. If they want to add a piece that could be a swing tackle now and potentially a replacement for Thuney or Cannon next year, that may be the best spot to get him. And Risner just screams proto Patriot to me. Like I said I agree with you, it’s not what I would do. Just my guess as to what Bill will do.

Isn't there some stud OG coming out of BC too?

Doesn't Iowa have those two monster TEs as well?

Yes and yes. I am of the mind all three of those guys will go in the Top 20, though. Sign me up for any one of them if they fall within trade up range.
