Given the cap implications it is hard to imagine the Cowboys letting Romo go unless he asks to be cut and they grant it.

Saving $5 million in cap money would be offset by his replacement who will almost certainly not be as good.

with jerry, anything is possible but I expect a post June 1 cut that softens the cap hit and allows Romo to play

Romo has gotten seriously hurt in 3 of his last 5 starts. Are teams really going to bet on him with a day 2 draft pick?

This is why again if a team does trade for him most likely it is a conditional pick. Maybe a 4th or 5th round conditional pick that jumps up depending on playing time and team success. We have seen those types of trades before and it just makes too much sense in a situation like this.

As a Redskins fan the title thread makes me feel embarrassed. :(

I mean the Vikings gambled on a qb who hadn't been healthy in 3 years. Anything can happen.

That QB though still was able to play in 14 games the season before this one. He is also quite a bit younger and hasn't had the big time serious injuries that we have seen ruin the career of players. Romo on the other hand now with 2 serious back injuries well we have seen players hang it up for less.

I'm just struggling to see teams really trust Romo to last longer than a few games. How can a team justify giving up say a 2nd round pick for a guy like that? Again why I think it will have to be a conditional late round pick that has some major jumps based on playing time and team success.
