Has there ever, in the history of the NFL, been a free agent QB coming off of a season in which he passed for 4900 yards?

Will the Redskins pay him?
Who are the frontrunners for him if the Redskins let him walk? Who has the cap space to sign him?
How much will he make?

If the Jets got him, they could actually become a decent team again. They have the receivers and running backs. They just need a QB. But I don't know if the Jets could fit $24-28 million a year under the cap. Anyone know?

Yes

SF? Chicago? Jacksonville? Jets? Arizona?

Jets are really strapped against the Cap so they are probably long shots. The rest have plenty of cap to sign Kirk to a big deal.

Kirk could potentially get $26.5+ mil per yr... $90 million guaranteed. These were the numbers I was hearing yesterday.

Kirk Cousins is a good player...I guess, and as my team is in dire need of a QB, I still wouldn't want them going $ insane for the guy.

As for his 4900 yards, well....that's all you really need to know about passing in this era. Kirk Cousins pulled off the trick, and was still left unprotected.

Do you think Jacksonville would give up on Bortles that quickly? He'll only be 25 years old next season and is just a year removed from a 4400 yard season and an 88.2 QB rating.
I think Palmer has the job in Arizona as long as he wants it and as long as Arians is the head coach.
I wouldn't wish San Francisco on my worst enemy...well, maybe Brady.
Chicago would be interesting. They need more than just a QB before they are a playoff threat again.
Jets? That would be interesting. Would be better if the owner had fired Bowles.

Although I agree to a certain extent, they had some terrible luck with injuries this year. I believe the only starters to play in every game were Cody white hair, the kicker, and punter. Any team that has injuries like that is going to struggle.

You kn

You know it. 10%?
Agents these days get about 3% I believe. I would like to be his agent, not for the money, but to watch Washington squirm as they figure out how to sign KC without tagging him. Ya gotta love negotiating from a position of strength.

If I were Denver I'd be all over Cousins. He's the difference between 9-7 and 12-4 for them

He's also the guy that could eat up the cap space for the next 3-4 years making it impossible to sign any players to build around him.
Hard to fit having Cousins, Miller, Thomas, Talib, Sanders, and Harris all under the same cap and still have any kind of depth.

It would also be admitting that our 1st round QB is a complete bust and that we have decided to move on from him. I can't see Elway doing that considering he is the one who handpicked the kid.

That will depend on what Elway sees in him, I guess. He has a lot more shelf life left than Romo has, but he will also cost more.

No. Stop it. The Cowboys line couldn't even get Romo through the preseason healthy. Behind Denver's line, Romo would die.

Plus the dude will be 37 before next season it would be nearly 2 years since he's taken a snap in a meaningful game. Maybe he still hasn't something left, but that's not something I'd bet $20 million a year on, or whatever it would take to sign him.

I guess for the Broncos it is all about your view of the young QB's and the potential they have going into next season. IF you think they are busts then yes Romo being signed makes sense. If you like the potential of those players to succeed then spending that money on Romo makes little to no sense. That could be money spent on the OL building up a unit to protect these young QB's and maybe more importantly help establish a run game. Romo is going to cost at least $14 million for whoever trades/signs him this upcoming season. Not a bad price for a QB but again that $14 million is 2 quality starting OL players in the league. Let's say we divide that price in half for the RG and RT spot for the Broncos. Well that means they can sign a top-5 RG, and a top-2 RT for those kind of prices. I would rather have those players than Romo.
