I've said for 11 years that 3rd downs in football across the board will be the death of me.

I hate the jumbo package. Maybe it would be better if we actually threw out of it just once or twice

It's possible, in my opinion.

Especially with the playoffs right around the corner. No reason to further damage it in the regular season. Let it try to heal as much as possible for the playoffs. Makes sense to me

If it was a minimal tear would they still have kept him out for 2 1/2 games?

It probably wasn't minimal but it probably wasn't bad either.

I think they would keep him out for the last two games even if it was minimal because we had clinched the playoffs by beating the Pats.

And as a coach I would've taken the gamble on beating the Cards without Smith to give Smith a chance to not hurt and rest his arm to be ready for the playoffs and also what's not being talked about is the time off will give him fresh legs and a rested body.
