I started a batch of pickles yesterday...or the day before...but anyway, i hope they turn out good.

never had enough faith in myself to try canning, I was always convinced I'd screw it up and we'd all die from botulism

That's all I used to use was propane. About 4 years ago I got a charcoal smoker. It's been a hot and heavy love affair ever since.

I've got a combo firebox/grill-smoker. I love it. I'm spoiled to charcoal and wood.

I'm helping a customer who is asking how moth balls work. (dumbass) his kid runs over to me and tries to grab my cell phone on my belt. I laugh, and just gently guide him away.

His dad gets pissed and reports me to the manager on duty, saying I pushed him. I get called in to fill out a statement. Turns out the kid is autistic and had been grabbing people all over the store. Even blew his nose on one of our people's shirts.

I should have just punched the kids dad instead. Fuckstain!

that is a classic retail story, no offense but I do not miss it at all. guarantee you that kid has never heard the word no directed at him. parents use it as an excuse to not rein him in..........it's easier for them

I`m not canning, I am doing it the old way...fermenting, super easy and good for you. I want the health benifits.

I am really puttin a hurtin on myself with how I have been drinking....if i keep this shit up I will be on meds for all the health issues...my health is getting worse and worse lately. I hardly ever do cardio anymore, and only lift weights 3 times a week.....and with the drinking I eat bad....just a big snowball of a fuckstorm that I need to quit.

aw, see i never work out nor do cardio. the only cardio I do is walking and that's really not that much. and I don't eat good at all, just whatever is quick and easy to make

charcoal was always a nightmare for me..no heat control....burn out before i was done...just not good.

With the gas I can control all of that, and get my smoke too...gas is way better for me.

One of the best thuings ever....put some kind of rub on a whole chicken, cut it`s back bone out so it lays flat, and grill the fuck right out of it......

Yeah, retail is sucking big time. But the original plan was to work part time and get insurance while I did remodeling.

But the Depot dropped part timers health insurance pretty soon after I started, and have been working me full time hours while keeping me part time. Putting a crimp in my house flipping and good pay/note carrying.

There are going to be some changes in the near future.

I'm going to have to check that out, my mom used to do bread & butter& dill pickles but she was using the canning method. suckers were good too, in grade school I could trade those things off for the other guys entire lunches

both of the ones that were in NOLA shut down, closest I can think of is Baton Rouge. They've still got them in Houston though. Best thing I ever got at one was they used to make a seafood jalapeno popper for the bar that was great. used cream cheese to bind the seafood and then huge jalapenos, that I always suspected they cleaned & sliced and stored for a few days to make them really hot

you ever come down for Mardi Gras or Jazz Fest just let me know, I can clue you in and give you some tips to help you have a better time

you know why there shut down? I really enjoyed the place and they had amazing lobster and crab. Red Lobster is really good, but I always thought Joe's Crabshack was a lot better. I've never been really big on real spicy food because it always burned my lips real bad and made them feel like they were on fire even though my mouth didn't feel like that, but I've seemed to enjoy spicy food as of recently. not sure if my taste buds have gotten accustomed to it as I've gotten older or what

when's Jazz Fest? but I'll come down whenever I get enough money to afford it

Every time I make my way to your neck of the woods I end up brining back some local mesquite. Blend it with a nice apple or cherry wood and I'm in heaven.

thought it was Federal that you're full time if you go over 30 hours? I know Firestone was absolutely paranoid about that one, they required the managers to only schedule part timers for 25 hours
