Ok Rios redeemed himself there.
Rangers just have a poor approach at the plate as a team in general. If a guy has been pounding the strike zone all night, especially on the first pitch, they take and fall behind in the count. If a guy is wild, they swing at the first pitch and bail him out. The talent is certainly there, but sometimes the mental aspect is completely missing at the plate and on the base paths.

They certainly have tendencies to be overly impatient and aggressive. But they're capable of taking working counts and making the pitchers earn their outs as well. It's always hit or miss what you're going to get tho.
