Just posting what I am hearing. I have no love for the 49ers and I root for the Steelers when not playing the Redskins....

I know, I was just reacting to my raw emotions...and the fact that my jersey collection consists of: Plaxico Burress (didn't choose that one...), Willie Parker, and Mike Wallace. COME ON MIKE!

Since this is basically the football thread...Colts fans seriously won't have any relevant jerseys to wear. No Manning, Saturday, Adai, Wayne, Garcon, Freeney. HAH.

I've been hearing it, too. At the end of the day, Colbert and the Steelers FO hold the cards on him. Sure, there is the possibility of a team dropping a dump truck of greenbacks in Mike's front yard, but I still think the sacrifice of a 1st rounder, plus the amount of overpayment to bring him on will deter most teams, and when I say most teams, there's really only two or three places he could go.

The 49ers are one of those teams. They have a LATE 1st round pick. They have a very serious need at WR & feel they're very close winning the Super Bowl.

Another team to watch is New England. They have two LATE 1st round picks. Wallace would be the perfect compliment to Welker.

He'd be a great compliment to welker... cept they're already on the hook for 9+ million dollars of Welker's tag. If they can't sign him to new contract, and a lower cap #, there's no way in hell they're going to add on the insane cap hit it would require to bring Wallace.

And yes, SF is really the only other team. I guess we'll see. I don't think it's going to happen, though.

If the Chargers didn't have a mess on the Offensive Line I'd be willing to give up the pick to get Wallace. VJ is gone. He's negotiating with the Buccaneers who have more cap space than any team in the league.

With Dielman retiring, McNeil about to be released, Hardwick & Gaither UFA's the Chargers biggest need is OL.

Fortunately finding WR's isn't a problem for the Chargers. Vincent Brown was a 5th round pick last year & he looked very good at the end of the season.

He would be a great addition to any roster that has a capable QB.

Would San Diego really be willing to part with the #18 pick? I doubt it. Really, I have to wonder if there are any teams willing to part with their #1 for him. It's not just the pick, though. Any team willing to go after him has to overpay him by a lot. I've heard the debate, ad nauseum, over the past weeks here in Pittsburgh about it. I just don't see it.

Honestly, WRs are easy to get in the draft. There are so many late round gems out there. Just have to have good scouts. Look at Antonio Brown and Emanuel Sanders. Not like they were huge names in the draft, but if you know what to look for, it pays off. Even Wallace came from nowhere.

Welker was an undrafted UFA. The Chargers let him go after training camp.:L

Colston who just signed a 5 year deal with the Saints was a 7th round pick.

This is why I'm not worried about losing Jackson.
