I remember once a team parlayed a guy named Walker into a similar influx of fist rounders like that.... which turned into Aikman, Irvin and Smith.
That worked out ok.

I understand wanting a franchise QB. However, this is almost as bad as the Herschel Walker trade. If the Rams get the WR they want anyway it will look even worse.

I expect thanks to the Redskins the Rams will be picking in the top 10 next year. Heck they could end up with 2 top ten picks next year.

...but mark my words this trade will set the Rams up for a long time. It's a deal Redskiins fans will look back on as a franchise killer. Times have changed.

This was a bad move. The Skins gave up too much.

It's not a "debate" when you say the same thing over and over, are presenting something as fact that is pure speculation, and are making comparisons to past trades that are completely out of proportion with this one.

I wasn't even right. I just thought the LOLing and stating the trade was bad as a fact was ridiculous.

RG3 has made everyone on that offense better. He's making 6th round picks play like 2nd round picks. He's making a mediocre O-line the leading rushing team in the NFL. He's done it all with his top (and only excellent) receiver out most of the year. He's done it without his top (and only excellent) tight end out most of the year. He's one of the most exciting players in the NFL already, he's a leader and Captain on the team and deservedly so, and he puts this team (whose defense has been MUCH worse than last year) in every game. I don't think the NFL has ever seen a player with the combination of talents he has.

The fact is that the QB position has never been more important in the NFL. I never said this was the right move. But the trade was laughed at and mocked on here. I said it was too early then to say it was a bad trade, but I don't think it's too early now to say this was a good trade for us (and might be good for the Rams as well).

Where did I compare RG3 to Luck? That trade was never an option. But if you asked me now who I'd take now between the two, it would be RG3. I looked for Luck's QB rating to compare them, but there must be an error on ESPN because I can't seem to find it.

Luck does have a HOF to throw to, but c'mon now, he's mostly double covered and the rest of the weapons the Colts had for years with Manning took off for "greener" pastures.

Maybe strong was the wrong word. His completion % in his first 3 seasons was 44.2% (yikes), 54.9%, and 50.0%. Vick has never been accurate. I don't even think Vick and RG3 run the same either. Both are fast, but Vick had the open field moves. RG3 uses more flat out speed.

And RGIII is in the top 5 of QB's??? In what, Passer Rating, cause that's about all I see right now. He barely has more passing yards that Fitzpatrick, and even has thrown less TD's than him.

I'm just gonna pretend you didn't just compare RG3 to Ryan Fitzpatrick. But yes, RG3 is 4th in passer rating, set the record for rushing for a QB, has the highest yards per attempt in the NFL, and has completed more than two thirds of his passes and thrown a ridiculously low 4 picks through 12 games.

Using team record to compare Luck and RG3 is ridiculous IMNVHO. And I think Luck is awesome btw for all that he is being asked to do. But I don't think it's even close who is having a better year right now. RG3 is ranked just ahead of Tom Brady in his rating. Luck is just behind Jake Locker.

It's okay. I am. He's already helped this franchise immensely and will be a great talent for years to come. Sure, he could get injured. So can anyone. That's a risk all teams endure. And I've always said I think that has to do more with luck and your physical makeup than how you play.

Overall Luck's numbers are impressive for a rookie QB that throws as much as he does, and he's shown he can come back and win on the very last play of a game. He's smart and has great composure in the pocket.

Like I said, we'll have to see how things are looking after a few Seasons.

That said, RGIII seems like a really good guy, Vick has always seems like a complete jackass from day one in college, so I doubt there are any dog incidents in Roberts future.
