Grilling a sirloin tonight and I'm trying to decide if I should marinate for a few hours or if I should just stick with my seasoning rub which is what I normally do (seasoning salt, ground black pepper, garlic powder, cayenne pepper, onion powder, and paprika).

Suggestions?

I like to use those "Jack Daniels" marinade,i like to let my steaks marinade for a couple of hrs and then let em set till they get room temp...then throw em on the grill or inside flat top stove grill. Good stuff!!!!

how about this. do your regular seasoning and make a butter melt for it

Herb Butter

1/2 lbs unsalted butter - let soften at room temperature
2 cloves garlic minced
1 small bunch finely chopped chives

mix together and form into spoon sized dollops/pucks if you can then freeze. once the steak is cooked you can put it on top just before you take off BBQ (5 to 10 seconds)

I use with a different rub

1/2 tsp chili pepper
1/2 tsp chili flakes
1 1/2 tsp ground pepper
1/2 tsp dried basil
1/2 tsp dried parsley
1 tbl spn greek seasoning
3/4 tsp SEA salt

adjust receipe for size of steaks and how you like it for salt etc. if Im using any powdered garlic I am cutting salt by 1/2

Yeah, because adding 'BBQ' before the word recipe makes it more MATTY, lol.

I also can make a mean roast chicken, a roast beef/pork and many other Stove/Oven recipes I have NO problem with it :)

I'm looking for a good recipe for homemade spaghetti sauce, using whole tomatoes and not tomato paste.

My neighbor gave us a shitload of tomatoes she grew in her garden, and I was gonna use some to make a bunch of sauce and can it and freeze it.

Anyone have a good one?

Me think Higgy not understand. Woman no understand man cook. Woman cook stay in kitchen, use oven, no danger of burn or giant fire. Make cakes, sandwiches, pies. Real cook happen on fire. Man use fire. Woman not know how make fire, use fire. Woman cook on fire, burgers come out like rabbit turds, steaks not done properly. Man use fire, always outdoors, woman use oven, always indoors. Outdoors, fire, manly, good. Indoors, sandwiches, barefoot and pregnant, woman. You understand now?

Me go poop.
