I couldn't figure out if this belonged in the NHL thread or the NFL thread, so I'm putting it here.
Sports misery index: Most miserable fan bases in pro sports
So close to being the most miserable in both.
Plus, I don't see how the Pirates aren't in the top 25, and the Reds are. 20 years of losing seasons followed by a flash-in-the-pan wildcard win and 2 wildcard losses. Now 3 straight seasons of .500 or below, on to the next 20 years? The last playoff series win was the same year as the last WS win, 1979, while the reds have done both in the 1990s.And any rating system that doesn't have the Orioles in the top 5 is flawed.
i feel much sadder than 67thFor all the griping that Canucks fans do, they are higher than both the Oilers and Flames. Also, they live in one of the most beautiful places in North America.
I am not happy with them but I don't think the Orioles belong near the top. It might not seem like it but they had a pretty decent stretch before last year. The five seasons from 2012 to 2017 no one in the American League won more games.
Largely terrible for 30 years, but a decent stretch recently.
Do the M's even have a rivalry? Most of the teams above them have seen rivals have significant success and it says that plays a part (3 of the top 8 teams are AFC East teams), although that also begs the question of the two Phoenix teams being directly above them since most people forget either team exists most of the time.Longest current playoff drought in sports, have never played in a World Series, and the Mariners are tied for 12th? They should be higher.
Yeah, hes awful but he is 89 now so I am not sure how much he has to with the club anymore.Counterpoint: Peter Angelos.

I guess maybe the Rangers.Oakland I guess would be the closest. For me, I’d pick the Astros and Rangers.
I'd still give the nod to the Orioles, just for being subjected to We Are Family.Yeah, hes awful but he is 89 now so I am not sure how much he has to with the club anymore.
And while he is/was a bad owner the bigger problem with him is he is just a dick. If he could come across as slightly less of a dick perhaps he would have been given more slack by the fans. His team is in a really tough division with two teams that can spend about double what he can so there were legit issues that make it hard to succeed. But two seconds into any interview he is talking down to the interviewer and fans and saying how great he is.
