Another pig at the trough in washington

The city of Washington was built on a stagnant swamp some 200 years ago, and very little has changed. It stank then, and it stinks now. Only today, it is the fetid stench of corruption that hangs in the air. And who did I see taking a bribe but the "Honorable" Bob Arnold! Don't worry, Congressman, I'm sure you can buy all the votes you need with your dirty money! And this will be one nation, under the dollar, with liberty and justice for none.

The Evolution of Goaltender John Gibson | The United States of Hockey

Good read. But one thing really hit me:
Then he makes 28 saves in his postseason debut to beat Chris Osgood’s 20-year-old record for youngest goalie to earn a shutout in his Stanley Cup Playoffs debut.

He wasn't born yet when Ozzie set that record.

And then this:
Just to recap, here’s his save percentages in major events and postseason play as his team’s primary starter:

2010 World U17: .957; 2011 World U18*: .926; 2012 OHL Playoffs: .938; 2013 WJC*: .955; 2013 OHL Playoffs: .946; 2013 WC: .951; 2014 AHL Playoffs: .955.

*named tournament MVP or Best Goaltender.

Lecavalier to Reunite with Laviolette in Nashville?

@CJ_Stevenson:

Hearing Vincent Lecavalier to the Predators to reunite with Laviolette is a possibility. Laviolette apparently pushed for him in Philly.
--

"Paul Holmgren said this week one of the reasons Lecavalier struggled is because Peter Laviolette, who recruited him, left, and Lecavalier wasn’t a fit in Craig Berube’s system. Is there a trade fit now that Laviolette is in Nashville?" wrote CBC's Elliotte Friedman. "Flyers would probably have to eat a good chunk of his salary, but Holmgren and Poile have a history of getting deals done."
