Not to take a shot at your team, but I know their not that good. No offense, Dash.

I ask, because, I know he is capable of top 4 minutes, just wondering if you think he's better suited for that or on the bottom pair? But, you answered that already above, so I know the answer.

It's all good, Johnny, no offense taken, heck I know they're no good and I take shots at them all the time (lol). I do see some light at the end of the tunnel, but that's probably three years away.

He has been playing top 4 minutes because he's a top 4 defenceman on the Flames (in case you haven't noticed, the team isn't very good this year). Ideally, I see Russell as a very good 5-6 defenseman who can slot into a top 4 role when injuries deplete the defense corps.

He's a good swiss army knife type tool to have on D. Can also QB a second PP unit and has good vision. I'd love to have him back. Such a beautiful skater.

As of right now Vanek is expected to be in the lineup tonight against Calgary. The entire Isles 1st line wasn't involved in the morning skate. Word is this could be the lowest crowd of the season thus far at the Coliseum. Sorry dash. The Flames just aren't a big draw right now. It doesn't help matters that the Isles fanbase is pissed off right now.

No worries DaBolts, Flames aren't exactly a marquee draw these days. I just hope guys like Squidy and Stempniak can have a good game to bolster their respective trade value.

I hear ya. Andrew MacDonald getting the only goal the other night against the Capitals certainly didn't hurt his trade value. He played the most minutes on the team & scored the only goal. Garth wants a 1st plus for him.

And idk if you heard, but earlier today it was reported that he turned down a 4/16 deal and now they're looking to trade him. Asking price is a 1st round pick+

Yeah I heard. I'm not surprised. AMAC wants 5M per. He's not worth it, but he'll get it & I'm fine with that. I don't blame him one bit for wanting to test the market. He's been underpaid for a long time.

Well, the Kings are looking at A-Mac - if the Kings trade for Sam Gagner, just in my honest opinion, from connecting the dots, they would trade Linden Vey(a center) for a defenseman and the Isles might like that

You're not getting Tyler Toffoli, not for A-Mac - maybe if the Kings really wanted Vanek that could be a possibility but not for A-Mac

Tanner Pearson is another kid the Isles could be interested in, he's a winger

They will flip Vanek for a goalie, IMO. Anaheim wants Vanek, they will part with 1 of the 4 to land him. They can afford it.
