Nice to see Backlund playing well. I liked him as a prospect since his draft. Then I kind of thought he'd neve be more than a journeyman. Now he's looking like a genuine top 6er for the Flames.

Also kind of a cautionary tale on judging prospects too quickly.

Some nights they do. They've dropped a few bigtime stink-bombs recently though where the effort wasn't even there.

I will say though that the effort has gotten a lot better in general since Nolan took over.

That it was. They should re-sign him. He's solid in net.

I hope so as well, but I doubt it. Game will most likely be blacked out on the NHL Network here. But it's also on MSG for us.

Nabby was simply awful last night. Berra on the other hand was quite good. There were some scattered boos for Vanek. Which is saying something considering the lack of attendance.
