One thing on the TSN segment that bugged me was when Botch was asked if he had ever heard language like that in a locker room before and he answered, "No". Caman Jason, really?

im gonna have to say he meant hes never heard language like that directed at members of the media during a BIG scrum

my brother has been in the room and he has heard alot of stuff ... but one to one or two ... not with an assembled horde standing there

Joe thornton chimed in and said to farhan " did you ever play the game? " fuck off and "next question" in a jocular way ... he was joking with him and farhan said they have a great relationship

it was all supposed to be a funny ha ha all around ... from joes joke to Botchford and the team1040's playing of it to show that as we already knew joes got alot of personality

then the sharks had to bring in their pr guy and make a thing of it

And I think the Sharks PR statement didn't come out until after the blog printed the quotes and (some? no idea who) twitter people were going crazy overreacting and saying Thornton should be fined, etc.

i enjoy the "you havent played the game card" too ... just as much as the "well you havent been a reporter before"

This gets lost on too many "talking heads" - he is the captain of the team and he stepped up admirably to deflect attention away from his rookie winger.

It's too bad what really got lost in all of this was the fact it was an epic soundbite/quote. We so rarely hear a NHL player speak up like that and we should appreciate it for all it's awesomeness.
