Mike Reilly update:

Bob McKenzie @TSNBobMcKenzie
The 9 clubs Reilly meeting with: CHI, CBJ, DET, EDM, LA, MIN, MTL, NYR, PIT. Reilly officially becomes UFA on June 16.

Huh?

Thought he's already said he won't come here? Isn't he still limited on contract term/$?

He said he's going to test the market. No one can offer him more than Columbus, so that's a pretty big F U to Columbus, I'd wager.

if the canucks would eat 1 shmill per year on the Ryan Miller contract ... would the Sharkies bite on that????

Don't want to see Andy go but if he is traded it better be for some good shit.
eg:

A) 1st and prospect

B) solid young roster player and 2nd/3rd rounder this year.

If not... fuck it.

A Lehner/Hammond tandem terrifies me in the short term.

Makes sense, particularly Plan C.

Not sure you get that big a haul for a 34 year old goalie who sometimes is a Top 10 goalie, but other years, not so much.

But if a team out there thinks they are "just a goalie" away, they probably bite. [Looking at you Philly :D]

Miller would still be $1.5 mil/yr more expensive than Anderson, and Miller hasn't bested Anderson in season sv% since 2011-12 (.916 to .914). Anderson won a playoff series as recently as 2 years ago while Miller hasn't backstopped a playoff series victory since 2007. Miller's also a year older.

I'd take Andy.

Could see one of the Alberta teams in for Anderson.

:nono:

It is the Western Conference that owns them.
Call me dense, but what am I missing from this comment? The Pens have been the windshield against the WC the last few years.

first ... if the canucks eat a shmill per year .. they are 800K/year difference ... not 1.5 per

As i showed in the canucks comedy thread, the canucks can actually pick up 2 shmill per year and still be better off financially in a Lack/Markstrom tandem than any tandem including Ryan Miller

second ... Ryan Miller had a better save percentage in 2013-14 than Anderson did ... so thanks for that

For some reason, Spotrac had his contract listed twice with two different values (Ottawa Senators Player Contracts, Salaries, & Transactions | Spotrac My bad.

Don't know how I screwed up the 13-14 sv%, but it's worth mentioning that Miller's went down to .903 when he was traded to a better team and while the sample size was smaller, it was still 19 games + 4 playoff games in which he was putrid.

Anderson still gets the advantage regardless.

Since we're on the topic, Jonathan Bernier also had a better sv% than Miller the past 2 seasons, is way younger, cheaper, and his team is amenable to all trade offers. Please email all inquiries to [email protected].

Now it makes sense, Pope Francis wears 15, Ryan Miller wears 30, ergod Ryan Miller has twice the power of Pope Francis.
