I cannot wait until Brian Strait is never on the ice again. He's been brutal. For whatever reason, Capuano has these ridiculous loyalties to guys like Strait and Martin. They are dreadful on the ice and with all that Garth did to get better plays for him to use, he still has these ridiculous hangups on playing the younger guys. Anders Lee should be an everyday player. Yet he gets sent down and there has to be an injury before he gets called up. I'm totally understanding of the 'numbers game' and all that but the guy is clearly NHL ready.

I've never been sold on Capuano and I really want him gone. Babcock behind the Isles bench would be amazing. I'm not sure I could ever see it happening but the Isles absolutely lack an NHL caliber coach.

Scrivens posted a 3-0-0 record with a 2.33 goals-against average and .920 save percentage to lead the Oilers (3-4-1, 7 points) to their first three-game winning streak since Jan. 26-29.

2.33 GAA and .920 save percentage are not exactly off the chart numbers, surely somebody else put up some pretty good offensive numbers in the past 7 days.

Like Tyler Toffoli, who had a goal and five points in TWO games this week

Or Corey Perry who had four goals and an assist in three games this week

James Neal had a hat trick for the Preds as well this past week - I know, it's only the NHL stars of the week, what's the big deal, but still, pretty run of the mill numbers for a goalie to get a star.

Pens having a mystery press conference at 1pm...Jimmy Rutherford and team doctor slated to speak. The weird thing is, only Beau Bennett wasn't on the ice for practice today, and he's just dealing with a knee injury. Twitter world is worried that it involves Mario somehow. Nervous about this...just an uneasy feeling.

Hmmmm. Charges "Dropped", but a civil suit commences. Where have I heard this before?

Oh, that's right. Pretty much EVERY other athlete charged with a crime, ever.

Three stars of the week are Jeff Carter, Ben Scrivens and Frans Nielsen

Fuck Jeff Carter

to be fair (deported to russia with Varlys ex) ... the civil suit usually only happens when the bold below happens

Report: Varlamov being sued by ex-girlfriend

technicality ... none of these women were in a relationship with the perp ... of course a civil suit was to follow with those

with varly ... the relationship went bye bye and now comes the civil suit

If I were in a relationship and my significant other attacked me, and I persued legal charges, which were then dropped, you bet your tuckus I'd seek a civil suit and that I wouldn't be with that person. In some cases (where the women don't seek legal charges) I get a teensy bit skeptical...but, this? Makes sense.

So is this the last game for Leon Draisaitl tonight before the Oilers send him back to junior? I don't think so.

The Senators have been relegating Curtis Lazar to the pressbox here and there. I think it's because they want to delay this decision and get more of a chance to coach the kid before axing his NHL season. None of that developmental nonsense with the Oilers though!!! Here's a stick and some skates now go make hockey happen. Don't come back until you've got 6 rings. Then I'll listen!!

I also have a hunch that Ottawa is delaying his 9th game to closer coincide with Marc Methot's return, at which point they will have to send someone down. Most of the candidates are waiver eligible so Lazar might go back to the W. IF this is the case they need to just waive Greening and move on.
