Flores is going to play some SS in spring training. I doubt he sticks there but it's worth a shot.
The Royals have designated Emilio Bonifacio for assignment, the team announced on Saturday.
The Royals have ten days to trade or release Bonifacio.
Bonifacio, 28, hit .243 with a .295 OBP with 22 doubles, three triples and 28 stolen bases with the Royals and Blue Jays in 2013. He hit .285 with a .352 OBP in 42 games after being acquired by Kansas City.
Bonifacio agreed to a one-year, $3.5 million contract to avoid arbitration last month, and he can be a free agent at the end of the 2014 season.
Mets RHP prospect Noah Syndergaard answered questions from fans on Twitter last week.
In regards to when he thinks he’ll be promoted, Syndergaard said, “I hear New York is nice in July.”
He also said he looks forward to learning from Matt Harvey, that Roy Halladay was his favorite pitcher when he was growing up and he hopes to wear No. 34 when he makes the 25-man roster.

MLB Network’s Peter Gammons said Tuesday that he believes free-agent SS Stephen Drew will eventually sign with the Mets.
WFAN’s Mike Francesa remains the only person reporting that the Mets made an offer to free-agent SS Stephen Drew.
The New York Post, Daily News, WEEI in Boston and former-GM Jim Bowden all cited knowledgeable sources disputing Francesa’s report.
The New York Post’s Joel Sherman believes the Mets will refrain from signing Drew and instead use that money to sign additional “smaller pieces,” he said on MLB Network early Wednesday.
“They’re fighting over the number of years,” Francesa said (WFAN, Feb. 4). “It’s not the money. … They already offered him the money. It’s a questions of years. … I think they’re going to sign Drew, I think they’re going to sign him. I really do.”
It was reported late Tuesday that the Red Sox made a two-year offer to Drew (Bowden, Feb. 3). However, according to an on-air report from Peter Gammons, Boston is asking Drew to essentially be a utility infielder, playing shortstop, third and second base.
Drew would most likely end up a starting shortstop if signed by the Mets or Twins, who are reportedly only interested in him on a one-year deal.
I must say, if we land Fernando Rodney the Mets bullpen could look very nice. I still think Farnsworth has something left in the tank, even if it's for 2/3 months it's a win for us. Parnell and Vic Black will be there, I expect one of our young arms to wind up in the bullpen, I like it.

All the best.
Justin Turner has signed with the Los Angeles Dodgers on Wednesday. It reportedly is a minor-league deal with a spring-training invite.
Turner, 29, had been non-tendered by the Mets in December. He hit .280 with two homers and 16 RBIs in 200 at-bats in 2013.
Free agent closer Fernando Rodney has reached agreement on a two-year, $14 million contract with the Seattle Mariners, according to a baseball source.
The deal includes an additional $500,000 per year in incentives based on games finished, the source said. The deal is pending completion of a physical exam.
Rodney, 36, has 172 career saves over 11 seasons with the Detroit Tigers, Los Angeles Angels and Tampa Bay Rays. He made the AL All-Star team and finished fifth in Cy Young Award balloting in 2012, and recorded a combined 85 saves for the Rays in the past two seasons.
