*shrugs*

Okay. I don't know much about the guy. He seemed a little squirrelly and not very stable in his positioning. With our D, that could spell trouble. But he's a goalie who keeps his SV% above minimum with a defense that has a tendency to run and gun, so...

By the way, Portzline is not the only stellar writer we get:
http://www.bluejacketsxtra.com/cont...upov-is-available-jackets-must-draft-him.html

That's some hard hitting investigating journalism there, Lou. If the best player, by leaps and bounds, is available - you should draft him. :L

Does anyone know if the two 4th round picks CBJ gave up for Bobrovsky were the two picks acquired from Vancouver for Pahlsson?

Picture's not giving me a lot of confidence:

His right shoulder is up like he's expecting that's where the puck is, but it is floating right past his catch glove, low on his left.

LOL, I don't think Portzy likes the deal...

Bobrovsky Dealt To Blue Jackets For Picks | BlueJackets Xtra

Bobrovsky, 23, was 14-10-2 with the Flyers this season, sporting an .899 save percentage and a 3.02 goals-against average that were among the worst in the NHL, marginally better than Blue Jackets starter Steve Mason.

Anyone know where I can get moonshine? This is going to be a loooong day.

When informed Sergei Bobrovsky is his new goalie, James Wisniewski immediately applied to be suspended the first eight games of the regular season

The one this year is 117th overall from Vancouver in the Pahlsson trade. The 2013 pick if one aquired from Phoenix.

Well, in reality, it's a lateral move. The Blue Jackets traded pure potential in three picks for potential with a grain of known value at a position of need.

Nothing to celebrate, nothing to get mad about.

Pretty much this.

He'll have a slightly more tight defense, and they in turn get a goalie who's faster on the bottom half of the net. Could work.

Hockeysfuture has him rated pretty high. We'll see. If the Jackets can stock some forwards and keep the D as is, they just need a goalie who isn't going to lose games on his own.

i think bob is an awful backup (last year's stats), but a pretty decent starter (rookie season).. down low he's almost unbeatable, his quickness is astounding, but he's very vulnerable up high if he hasn't been seeing the ice for a while (see pens/flyers series)..

i like the return, it was pretty much a given that bob would be moved, i'm happy they got some good picks for him, and i'm also happy he gets a shot at being a starter.. i really think he's got what it takes.. says something about a goalie when he beats the defending stanley cup champs, in their new building, in his first NHL game

dont expect any shutouts though, the guy is snake-bitten for those.. 0 in two seasons.. i feel bad for the guy

If i was a cbj fan Id be pissed ... this guy is gonna be next years #1?

id have to hope that theres gotta be something else coming and bobo the clown is the backup who will be groomed behind a veteran ... but then youre relying on Howson to get you that guy

but then there is this ....

James Cybulski ‏@JamesCybulski
Jackets GM Scott Howson told me they are still open to changing their goaltending situation even after the Bobrovsky trade

so i would have to wait and hope howson finds a legit answer ... and pray to Oprah

Wrong.

The Blackhawks were the defending Stanley Cup champs :)
