elvis would have gotten closer to 160 in FA .....imo

Right now, 20 million a year for 8 years? Elvis is a good SS, but he's not a 20 mill a year player.

On top Yu was commanding and while Harrell got the loss he had a great start too. King had a great start last night too.

This keeps up should be interesting every 5 or so days when 1s or 2s meet.

The only thing I'm annoyed with right now is out offenses ability to start slow.

Went to look at scores of games played so far to see where runs were being scored. To me it isn't strange for hitters to lag the pitchers getting up to ML speed. So am not worried that TEX offense has been slow to start especially against pitchers they have not faced before.

On that note ... looking at early starts: CD had his second 3run HR... this time in the first inning off Hellickson. BAL is likely to be badder than they were last year if this keeps up.

CIN pitchers logged 36K's against LAA in its opening 3-game series ... Hamilton w/6Ks, Trout 5Ks, and Pujols 2Ks accounting for a third of those Ks. CIN RH SPs logged 22Ks, RH RPs logged 10 and only LHP LAA saw was Chapman logged 4.

LAA only saw 44 pitches from Chapman in those 3 games. In the final out this afternoon he made Hamilton look as bad on the last pitch as he as ever looked. Over the next three games LAA is going to get a LHP fire hose ... a totally different picture than they have seen in over a week.

Going to be an interesting weekend.

so is there anyway balt. gives us back davis......mitch needs to get a hit soon

The trade filled a need at the time. Still can't figure out why Koji wasn't retained unless he just didn't want to pitch here anymore. I know he's 38 but still got the job done last year. Career whip under 1. Pinpoint control. Huge K to walk ratio last year walking 3 and stiking out 43.
That's just insane.

The trade doesn't look so good right now though. Right now, Moreland looks like the old Chris davis without power.

Koji wanted away from Darvish.

Went to the FRI @ Arkansas double header tonight ... abysmal.

Cody Buckel was lost in the opener ... 5H, 5BB, 2SO, 1HR, 7ER lasting only 2.2IP. Do you know how hard it is to give up 5H and 5BB in less than 3 innings? Offense was more lost with a perfecto thrown by Arkansas' Jarrett Grube into the 6th w/7Ks. Ended up FRI got 1 hit.

In the second game ... was 3-2 Travs in the 5th when I left. Guilder Rodriguez a solo shot and an RBI single accounted for the 2 FRI runs.

I'm gonna go see round rock when they come to okc next Thursday and see Olt and Profar. Hopefully they'll put on a better show.
