It gives them the option of trading him, but I'm sure they'd only do it for the right piece. Otherwise my guess is Kinsler moves to the of next year.

As Ian gets older, i'd see him less likely to go to the OF and more to 1B. Yeah you want your power on the corners, but it is what it is.

If TEX is going to pay him $16mil in '14 and '15 ... he's going to be an everyday player in a spot where he can earn his WAR.

Putting him at 1b every day might make the CIF too RH-heavy and still leaves open the pending RH COF vacancy.

So I think regardless of whether or not TEX trades Profar + pieces for a TORP that Kinsler is a lock on the RH COF spot beginning in '14.
