My official prospect of the day...A late round pick.

6th, maybe 7th.

Zack Kuntz, TE from ODU.

6'8" @ 255lb

#1 TE athletically in the Draft, but not a lot of production in college.

Not a great blocker. More Kelce than Gronk.

From the combine:

Kelee Ringo, CB, Georgia: Ringo ran 4.36, so it wasn't all bad for the Georgia star. However, based on the immensely high expectations, the 4.36 was a little disappointing, and his jumps -- 33.5-inch vertical and 10-foot-2 in the broad -- were surprisingly not good. Ringo doesn't mirror outstandingly. His game is almost fully predicated on his burst and long speed. Wish we would've seen a better overall showing from him. I assume he feels similarly.
Maybe he'll fall to us and Bill can work some of that CB magic...

I too had what I referred to as a life long hammy issue. Regardless of warmimg up and or stretching I commonly injured my right hammy every season. I'd have use the old RICE method and miss 1/2 a season or risk reinjuring. I never had surgery. To this day my right hammy and hip flexors are tight. I think it's due to the scar tissue developed over the years. Granted he likely has much better trainers and docs than I ever had. But like I mentioned depending on the severity he could miss his pro day and rookie camps or worse. Or at least be limited to what he can do then and the train up going into them? Could be a red flag dropping him down further in the draft?

Hamstring tears involving tendon avulsions, in which the tendon pulls completely away from the bone, require surgery and an extensive rehabilitation program.

Bottom line rest is in his immediate future.
Any grade 2 or worse tendon avultion involves the tendon tearing away from the muscle sheath. Surgery is dependent upon the amount of retraction. Generally, more than 2 cm requires surgery.. If torn loose from the pelvis it is grade 3 and absolutely requires surgery.
I had a grade 2 and don't know anything more because I have never had an MRI.
That said, half my ass is now down to bottom of my thighh! I'm still pissed!
Emergency room doctor saw an old man standing there, seemingly not in pain and decided it was a strain. Fuck him!
Let him try to run on a disconnected hamstring!!!!!

I like it, the level of competition in collegs is questionable but seeing as you have him later in the draft this feels like a potential diamond in the rough. He is big enough to block I suspect that can be taught if he accepts it openly I suspect that won't be an issue.

Mehh you find more reasons to piss and moan about picks than most here. He indicated potential 7th round picks. If you can get a good size, quality pass catching TE in round 7 how can that be bad thing. At that point in the draft best most or hoping for is STs guy, or camp fodder. I am all about taking an athletic TE from a small school, worth the shot IMO.

In my case, I was overseas without access to an orthopedic specialist and I was misdiagnosed in the emergency room.
I took my grandson to the ER from an evaluation camp at UNH. The doctor in the ER told us, "It's a bad sprain. Stay off it for a couple of days. You're young, you'll heal quick." He had accepted and invitation to a HS All Star evaluation camp. He was limping and I fought with him not to do the camp, but like any HS Jun ior, he was looking for a scholarship. He collapsed after his first 40. He knew something was seriously wrong, but a Div. I coach asked him if he thought he might be able to get under the 5.0 he'd run. He fell before he hit the 30 yard mark.

Line you Southie, an asshole doctor who had him x-rayed and not an MRI. He ran 5.0 40 with a torn ACL and torn meniscus. Missed his senior year, covid in his freshman college year cancelled the season and in the spring semester, he was studying from home and attending classes on Zoom. His girlfriend decided to stop taking the pill and his football career was over. He's going to school nights and will graduate next January with a degree in HVAC and Refrigeration along with a certificate in Advance Electrical Science. AND I'm a great grandfather.

He was recruited by the XFL but was too close to completing his courses. He's got a pretty decent job while finishing school. He puts the microscopic wires in all of the new currency.

I would have killed to see him play football again in college. Just wasn't meant to be.

My pro career ended at 20 and it is a sad story. Since then I have done many things and had a great life.
Good to hear your grandson is making a good go of it. Sounds like an outstanding citizen!

I apologize (to all) for my constant criticism during this pre-draft period.
I have been trying to be the counter-point to pre-draft opinions.
I value all your opinions.

I'll take him on team for the last name alone.

Please tell me it's pronounced Kuntz and not Koontz.

If we all agreed it'd be quite boring.

It's not as if you aren't adding value. For the most part it's good thought out criticism.

Well, until you poo poo my picks, lol

So the last time your grandson played football was his junior year in high school. No senior year. No college. Trying to get a scholarship at a very small university but didn’t. And the XFL wanted him? There are some very good ex college players playing in the XFL. Your grandson must have been amazing.
