I like this deal. Helps the rotation where we needed it without painting ourselves into a corner. I still think Napoli comes home to play 1b/dh. Then we need another OF bat. Not too far away if we get Nap.

It looks like we have right about $145 million on the books for next year at this point with 3 reserve spots left to fill and maybe a salary from the pen to be traded away. If the talk about us being able to spend between $160-165 million was fairly accurate then we are still in good shape.

With the new Shortened DL. I suspect the 6th starter being brought up and down to give regular starters a rest will be in play this year a lot more. Still could not hurt to get one more guy esp with Ross not likely to begin the season.

Well of course.... What I am trying to point out is that Ross will unlikely start season in rotation due to injury in conjunction with the new DL rule, another MLB ready pitcher with minor league options should be on Rsngers radar as well as a lot of clubs so starters can skip a start as needed.
