After a long thought process over the weekend, I wouldn't trade Seager for anything right now....

He's tough to get a handle on. He's coming off of a career year at the plate last year, but right now holds the worst triple slash line of his MLB career. He tends to go on streaks.

I wouldn't for the simple fact he plays some gosh darn good defense, it's not flashy, it's not text book, but he gets the job done. And if it does make it past him I honestly feel nobody could've gotten it...

His contract really sucks, but considering his contract we'd likely be able to land him for nothing but a C-grade prospect and the promise to eat most of his contract.

Correction:

Kuma has $1M buyout and Gallardo has $2M buyout.

$45.65M

Also I believe Seager's contract increases from $11m to $19m. Left out all that stuff for the sake of simplicity. Mariners should have around $40m + however much they decide to increase payroll.

Mariners have added at least $12m in payroll each year since 2014. Using that as a benchmark, Mariners should have around $40-$50m to spend.

Kate Upton in Safeco every 5th day wouldn't be bad either.

I'm growing increasingly interested in signing him to a short term deal. He has a fire that I really like in ball players. Plus, he's played solid enough at 1B to go along with as good of production at the plate that we've had for a long time at 1B. I say if nothing else is available out there Danny deserves like a 2-year $12.5 deal.

I wouldn't be opposed. He has been solid. Obviously we'd want an upgrade over Danny, but we could do worse. Only issue is it might block Vogelbach

Two big deals today in MLB:

Chicago White Sox‏Verified account @whitesox 9m9 minutes ago

#WhiteSox have acquired Blake Rutherford, Ian Clarkin, Tito Polo & Tyler Clippard from NYY in exchange for Frazier, Kahnle & Robertson.

(Nice get for the Yanks. Robertson and Kahnle would have looked good in M's uniforms)

-------------------------

Arizona picks up JD Martinez from Detroit for 3 minor leaguers none in their top 5

(That guy would have been nice, but I know we had no room for a rental)

Yankees really addressed a lot of holes. They had a black hole at 1B and added a guy who hit 40 HRs last year, and added two plus bullpen arms.

Boy that White Sox farm system just keeps getting deeper...
