yeah........... prob is...20 mil..a year

Just a different perspective, written from Padres point of view. Not sure if I want to trade Segura, mainly because I have little confidence Seattle will bring in better players. We just always seem to get screwed.

If Padres can get Segura, time is right to trade Wil Myers

If Padres can get Segura, time is right to trade Wil Myers

I know it's from a San Diego news source, but they fail to acknowledge that Segura for Wil Myers straight up is highway robbery. They frame it as if Segura for Myers is a fair trade for both sides. Segura is owed less money, and his worst season from 2016-2018 is better than Myers' best season during that span. That's not to mention that Segura plays a more valuable position.

that is why you cant go with what they say somthing is worth ...it is only there point of view...not worth much to the mariners

but i agree...he is worth more.....Dipoto outlined Segura’s potential, according to MLB.com: “Jean has all the tools to be a star-level player.”

to be one..??..he is one
the verry fact that they want him...is proof of that

and if he is only worth that to them ..then he is worth more to the mariners and they will keep him

What do you guys think Edwin Diaz would get in a trade? He's objectively one of the best closers in baseball right now, only 24 years old and doesn't hit free agency until 2023.

Andrew Miller got a huge haul when the Yankees traded him to the Indians and he was much older and didn't have the cheap financial commitment that Diaz has. The Yankees landed Clint Frazier (#27 prospect overall) and Justus Sheffield (#81 overall) at the time of the trade.

My thoughts on the Indians overpaying aside, if that is the bench mark for an elite closer, I'd imagine the Mariners could land a lot more for Diaz given his age and his controllability.

there are not that many elite closers...at any one time..so it is prob..that they will trade him...but the time is not yet

and i think they would like to have an other one ready first...they have them comming..from below

a memorable trade

right-hander Mark Lowe from the Mariners in exchange for three Minor League pitchers.

Left-hander Nick Wells is the primary piece going to Seattle, while lefties Jacob Brentz and Rob Rasmussen also were included in the deal

for a san diego trade..they were saying will myers...but just like the brewers with braun..no team wants that contract

but other players of interest are

francisco mejia...catcher
franchy cordero....of..all three
jacob nix........RHP......he is not really ready......san diego is acting like he is though..and he may be in a couple years

but with a prospect or two added...i would think about these guys for leake and segura

that would still leave a free agent..ace...to get..and
a catcher..and a short stop..at that point

a deal with cincinati could work for..paraza..ss..and stephenson..RHP

a detroit trade could work for boyd ...L/LHP and candelario ..3b...and McCann..catcher

for seager ,segura and voggy
not a great trade for seattle..and boyd is more like a #3 or #4 guy
the big deal would be to give them seager

seager to clevland for prospects would work...but like myer for san diego..no one wants a big fat contract with nothing backing it up
so it is more likly seattle will have seager at 3B

tampa could trade for segura..they have the pitching to do it...they are looking to add cruz
also st louis could as well

i could see an atlanta trade....to detroit for castillanos..a bat they could use

it still leaves sandiego and phili as the more interesting trades

or maeiners to phili to sandiego.......lolol...mix and match..lol

Atlanta needs a 3b. Eating some Seager money, or taking a contract from atl could make him an option there
