I would take:

Franco
Herrera
Eflin
Pivetta

For

Paxton
Seager (must include)
Povse
They will sell high on paxton..so
I would go
Kingery...2b/3b/ss....arizona
Pivetta....rhp..victoria..bc
Irvin.......from..lhp..aaa...oregon
And.a prospect

Franco would be interesting
The hole point...i think..would be to add
Young pitching...cuz...that is the reason
They must trade in the first place

Kingery..is like gemnett..of Cinni
On hitting...but he can play all three

Sell sager as well..ok
Get more prospect.
.to trade for cordero....lol
.

Mariners Hire Paul Davis As Pitching Coach

By Jeff Todd | November 6, 2018 at 11:44am CDT

The Mariners announced today that they have hired Paul Davis as their new pitching coach. Previously, the club decided not to bring back Mel Stottlemyre in that role.

Davis had been with the Cardinals organization, most recently serving as their manager of pitching analytics. This will be his first experience on a MLB coaching staff. In the team’s press release, GM Jerry Dipoto praised Davis for his “exceptional understanding of the mechanics of pitching, as well as the balance to make evidence-based decisions.”

I can’t believe Jerry has a job with this hire. No experience necessary I guess is the Mariners motto.

Seager won't be wanted by anyone w/o taking on a talented player with him like Paxton. Because of his contract, taking him means less of a return so a guy like Kingery would be off the table in such a deal. M's (DIPoto mainly) have added a lot of young pitching and none of yet to become a factor. I would stick with youngish pitching with at least some MLB experience.

And remember, M's don't need young pitching. M's need talented pitching.

Talented..is good point..
Both..would be good

Yeah...and it is not like they won't pick
Up a free agent or two..either

But depth..is an issue as well
6 to 8 to 10..guys..is good

Seager may be a good point as well
But if they took kingery
Franco and seager platoon
Would work..
Cuz Franko.has his troubles as.well

Daily double jeoparty..answer would be

Who is hyun=jin=Ryu..L/L...car..stat..320.era

Of coarse...that could be other teams answer as well..and injury with.Ryu..does
Not make things guaranteed
But that is why...ya go for depth..when trading

If they had Cruz and Diaz or Colome they would have won the WS again IMO.

depoto on sell off..i really did not think they would sell everything off ..like baltimore

Jerry Dipoto: Mariners won't do teardown
l
jeff passan
Sources: The Mariners are considering a full-fledged teardown this winter. If trade market is strong, they’ve told teams they’re willing to move just about anyone. And if that happens, they have indicated they’re willing to wait a few years to build a competitive team again.

8:04 AM - Nov 6, 2018

dipoto

"Clearly over-dramatized is the best way to put that," Dipoto told MLB.com at the GM Meetings. "We're open-minded to different ways we can get better, but what we're hoping to achieve is to reimagine our roster to look at it in terms of what is our quickest path to a championship club.

some things are just..........logical

as with charlie morton and otani .....it is not just......money that is a deciding factor..on where players want to play

that makes a deference ..when rebuilding...or just gitting a free agent

depoto
The Mariners are in a different situation this winter. Dipoto indicated from the start of the offseason that his focus now involves building around his younger core of players -- such as Mitch Haniger, Edwin Diaz and Marco Gonzales -- instead of the aging and expensive core of Robinson Cano, Felix Hernandez, Nelson Cruz and Kyle Seager.

It would be simpler.(not really what they are shooting for).(ulmax.....but not better..or cost effective...or time effective)

-- and more likely -- to deal younger talent with upside. Paxton, the club's No. 1 pitcher, and starting catcher Zunino could be potential trade chips, as both have two seasons of arbitration eligibility remaining and thus haven't reached their maximum earning potential in free agency yet.

Trading Paxton would really only be the..answer to three things
Getting younger in the rotation(also helps with cost)
Adding depth
And
Lack of a suitable =2 tree agent pitcher

Assuming Gattis is gone there, I wouldn’t hate him as an option to Catch occasionally and DH

If the mariners could not..solve or begin to solve these problems...by trading Paxton
Then there would be no need to trade him

No point...

So...however they try to spin it...

They ain't giving him up...for what they don't need
