This will only make Z man worth more

We speculated on a trade with Phili
Now let's speculate on one with Atlanta

With Paxton seager and rumbelow..is who
I would want to send...but they would prob
Want colome...lol

Fantasy ..of coarse
Tuisant...rhp..#5
Allard.......L/L....from anaheim
Chris pache..OF..aa

Camargo..R/R...3b
Atlanta has Riley at aaa a top 100 prospect so he could platoon with seager

Jake farley is ok and they can use him
But basicly it seems they gave away
Heredia

And z man and plassmeyer for
Smith

Just does not seem right..seems like they
Overpayed..

My did Plassmeyer pitch all year at low A when he was dominating and old enough to pitch at Hi A?

Heredia is JAG. He's replacement level. Smith was significantly better than him.

Although platooning them might've made some sense too.

I wonder how much they had any interest in keeping Zunino though, just based on this deal.

I know that Smith is better but..he does not hit hrs...either does heredia.
The next outfield they get needs to be able
To hit hrs...and now they need a R/R
Lf/c.f. still
It seems all it did was upgrade the heredia
Position
And sell off one of there minor league starting pitchers for an outfield guy

I'm not really ok with that... selling off
Plassimeyer

There are a couple ways it could work
Out..like in another trade get a starting
Pitcher..for that lvl..which will be low A

Or over draft starting pitching..in June
And..LHP

i'm surprised they traded an arm who was that dominant. But does he have power stuff? He was 4th round pick, which makes me think not.

I had never heard of him aside from the fact that he was a recent fourth round pick. I know he's still early in his career, but I hadn't seen him listed in any of the top prospect lists for the Mariners (even found one 50 deep), and that's saying something considering the state of the Mariners farm system.

Mariners select Missouri’s LHP Michael Plassmeyer in the fourth round

According to this, his fastball sits in the upper 80s. His specialty is his control.

I'm a big fan of this trade. I like Mallex Smith a lot and I liked him a lot the first time we traded for him and was sad to see him shipped away.

The Mariners now have a gaping hole at catcher, but Mallex Smith looks to have the ability to be an above average centerfielder for the Mariners for the next 5+ years at a cheap price.

This is a move that I believe improves the team in 2019 and is a positive contribution for the team in the long-run. If Segura and Gordon are both on the team next year (I doubt it), the Mariners will have some incredible speed on the base-paths between those three.

There maybe something to that..that in the
End he would be a bull pen guy..but Diaz
Is not a power guy either..even though
He throws 100 mph
Yeah..they have Roberts and Torres who
Did not pitch last year..they may start
Him at low A again
And they have a lot of good Dominicans
Who will be coming up ..but still
They are going to need starting pitching
In in 3=to five years as well

Trading all the minors pitching..is partially
What causes the situation they are in now

Moving Heredia and Zunino gives the Mariners roughly another $5m in payroll space on top of the projected $11m they had to reach the $171m they spent last year. That puts us at $16m to spend. If the Mariners move Dee Gordon, that would give them an additional $13.3m.

Yeah..im good with it..as far as gitting
Smith goes..unfortunatly..it leaves one
More guy to get

I think they will go after the best free agent
Catcher..cant remember his name..
Or trade for realmuto

I just don't see that happening.

Look at how many 2B are on the market.

Maybe you can get the Dodgers to take Gordon, but you won't get really anything significant in return IMO

Yankees have interest in Gordon
If the mariners want some pitching depth
There maybe something there

If the mariners sell off Paxton or segura
They better get a bus laod if guys..or
Some top notch quality..guys at laest

Segura is one of the guys they can least afford to replace===they need him

There are clubhouse issues between Gordon and Segura and it appears as if one of them is going to go. With Segura being two years younger and objectively the better player, I have to assume Gordon will be shipped off.

I wouldn't expect to receive anything too substantial in return, the main purpose would be to move his contract so that the Mariners have more payroll flexibility going forward.
