Would you trade Paxton for Kris Bryant?

Nobody could resist that, but It wouldn't be Paxton straight up for Bryant, right? JD would have to add some prospects I'm thinking.

Cubs would have a deep versatile infield even without Bryant, but wonder if they'd take Cano, Seager or Gordon to play 2B or 3B along with Paxton? I'm guessing no...

Good question really. Bryant won't sign an extension so they may trade an oft-injured pitcher who may take an extension if offered for an oft-injured hitter who turned down an extension.

From everything I have read, probably not.They are trying to unload payroll after picking up the $20M option on Hamels.

I haven't read anything linking Paxton for Bryant, but both are available for trade so was curious.

I might be the only poster on this board, but I am sorry to see Scott Brosius leaving. I'm hoping he resigned for a better position somewhere in the majors. He is one of the staff I would have replaced Servais with.

I would agree..that Elias will have an important role

As will Hernandez despite his problems

My hope is that they sign Phelps to minor
League...then..he comes back like eavaldi
By the end of..the year
But my plan would be for him to take
Hernandez.s spot..after that

Just pure speculation but I’m guessing he told them to pound sand when they let Edgar go and didn’t instantly promote him to hitting coach. Plus it seems Jerry and Co. are going away from real coaches to stats guys or guys who’s resume say I’ll do whatever you want Jerry.
