Damn, I wanted to be 2-0, especially after Boston got trounced. :gaah:

I hate back-to-backs. Like I said in the game thread, the season should be 10 days longer to avoid them altogether. No team should have to go through that.

Sorry, but I am glad they lost. This team is rebuilding as they should and they need to pull a Spurs and tank to get Wiggins just like Spurs did to get Duncan. Keeping the Robinson out all but 9 games on an injury that was only supposed to last just over a month made the Spurs a championship contender for 15 years. Lakers need to follow suit. Kobe needs to rest this year and the Lakers need to get Wiggins.

I will be routing for the Lakers to lose every game but against the Clippers and Heat. Even though while watching games I will be routing for them to win cause I cant help myself even when I know tanking is better for them.

Tanking is dumb & it wont guarantee Wiggins anyways, we can easily end up with a real bad record & still possibly not even getting a top 10 pick.

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ That is exactly why I do not get the point of tanking in the NBA. Well said LA!

Tanking doesn't guarantee anything. Wiggins may be great in the NBA, but he might not. I've seen plenty of hyped players flail when playing against the big boys.

The Lakers have never tanked a season for as long as I have been watching them and they are not about to start now. Individual games maybe, like last night may be considered a tanking Laker's style but it all depends on the definition of tanking when it comes to the Lakers.

Definitely against the tanking idea. Especially since it doesn't guarantee anything. Put the best product out there that you can and let the chips fall where they may.

I don't read much into last nights game. A road game that was the 2nd of a back to back against a team that is expected to make a solid playoff run. As an added bonus: Opening night for that team!!

Games like that are why the Lakers need Kobe. Superstars lead the way in those road games (especially back to backs). Having that superstar helps settle the role players.

That and I also think the Warriors are better than the Clippers. Im not trying to hate on the Clippers but Deandre Jordan and Blake Griffin needs to develop a jump shot in my opinion. The Warriors will be scary as long as they stay healthy. I just want the Lakers to at least be competitive. I really dont see the point of tanking.

The Clippers beat the Warriors last night by 9 for their first win of the season.

Looks like B. Scott is gaining momentum to land the HC job. Where's Norm Nixon when you need him?

Still not a big fan of hiring B. Scott, but I'm starting to warm to the idea a little.

The positives:

1.) He knows the Lakers "culture" and what is expected.
2.) He is well-liked by Lakers faithful, so we won't see the backlash that we saw against D'Antoni. In other words, Lakers fans will actually give him a chance.
3.) He has led a team to the finals as a coach. I believe that he may be the only viable candidate left who has done that.

The negatives:

1.) He has had 2 teams mutiny on him and one was the team he took to the finals.
2.) He has coached 3 teams, had good success with 2, but each job has ended badly.
3.) You can't necessarily "go home again". These reaches back to the past by teams don't always seem to work out.

We may not have any other options TJF12 as the many candidate pool is rapidly drying up. I think if they got permission to talk to a staff member on the OKC, Bulls, or Spurs coaching staffs after the playoffs are complete, they may find the right good coach.

The more that I think about it, the more I like Dunleavy for reasons I stated on the coaching interviews thread.
