The Los Angeles Lakers 2022-2023 Season Thread

Today, September 27, 2022 is the opening of training camp for the Los Angeles Lakers. This traditionally is the official beginning of the NBA Season and that would be for 2022-2023. This year, we have a new coach and some new players and we are starting camp with Westbrook on the roster. We shall see what transpires in the next three weeks as camp opens and closes and then the 8 Preseason games are played to the opening of the Regular Season in Mid-October.

Media Day is done and Training camp continues to Monday October 3rd for the first Home Preseason game against the Queens. One dude getting a lot of rave reviews is the ex-Celtic signing Matt Ryan. We shall see if he sticks or gets cut.

The line-up of Nunn and Westbrook at the guards, with James and AD at the forwards, and Damian Jones at Center in practice of training camp has shown some great promise according to Green Eggs and Ham.

Maybe Ham is going to get the so-called "Big Three" to play the way everyone envisioned two years ago. Maybe.

Well talk is just flat-out useless. All the excitement about the possibilities and what peeps are hoping to happen on paper under Ham's direction are always tempered by reality as this vid demonstrates. Not too many made baskets in this training camp practice vid. This is pretty anemic at best. Nunn, Beverley, James and others missing shots like no tomorrow.

Granted, everyone knows it is just practice but I am a very firm believer that what a given player does in practice can and does carry-over to games. Nobody has a switch that they can just flip and become a superstar, sharp-shooter.

The Lakers take the First Quarter 27-21. They are looking mildly decent.

Christie is in the game in the Second Quarter. Pretty balanced scoring through everybody who has played. Even Westbrook has 5 points to match AD's 5 points.
